Mixing, mastering engineer who has worked with artists such as Gorillaz, Inna, Sofi Tukker, Sezen Aksu, Teoman and major record labels like Sony, EMI, Roc Nation. Has a PhD on sound engineering, electronic music composition and teaches Advanced Mixing & Mastering at The New School.

Located in Brooklyn New York, Erdem operates his private studio where he does producing, mixing and mastering for artists big and small. As a composer his main interest is film music and he has composed music for films that have premiered at Cannes, Berlin, Karlovy Vary, Atlanta film festivals.

Brief bio:

Started playing in rock bands in his teens, Erdem has recorded his very first album with his psychedelic band TOO MUCH when he was seventeen. By his early twenties, he got more interested in electronic music and music production. He received his masters and PhD on sound engineering and electroacoustic music composition at Istanbul Technical University. His main interest has always been sonic quality and being creative during the mixing process.

  1. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  2. A: House, electronic pop, R n B, singer-songwriter, trip hop, sad-core as well as film music.

  3. Q: What's your typical work process?

  4. A: After I deliver the individual tracks from the client, I listen to the rough mix and get a sense what the artist wants to convey emotionally. When I hear the mix in my mind, I start tweaking the knobs to get the sound that I hear in my mind.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: Finding the essence of the song and make it bigger than life.

  7. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  8. A: My mixing vision, approach and skill. I deliver warm yet transparent contemporary mixes.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: Main sound interface is RME UFX. I have Universal Audio Solo 610, Millennia Stt-1, Grace Design m101 as my main preamps and channel strips. TC Electronic Fireworx, Eventide Eclipse are my main hardware multifx processors. As analog synthesizers I use Moog Sub 37, Doepfer Dark Energy. I also have over 50 analog guitar pedals ranging from Electro Harmonix to MXR, Moog to Zvex and soon.
