Christie George just knocked my song out of the park with a grand slam. Holy Vocals Batman! This girl can sing! She is a delight to work with, sounds like a star, super fast turn-around and is a pros pro. I highly recommend Christie. I hope to be hiring her in the near future again. Thank you once again Christie, for a perfect vocal performance. Oh yeah, Holy Harmonies!!!

Interview with Christie George

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I think I am proud of anything I do. If I am not, I shouldn't be doing this! Each project is a learning experience, and one thing leads to another. With that being said, I love writing a song from nothing, and watch it become a fully produced song. They are my babies!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: A lot of different projects, personally, and for others. Lots to come!

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: A producer, yes.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both! Depends on the song and what is available to you. It is always what is best for the song...

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: That we will get it right!

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: I am never bored! I also work with so many cool people around the world. It's quite amazing.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: "Can you do this?" Well... let me hear what you have and I will let you know!

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That you only have to sell out arenas to be a successful singer.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I always ask for sonic references and direction as to where they think the song should be headed vocally.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Not everyone can sing EVERYTHING. Great vocalists have their niche and stick to it. Also, it is important to get a good vibe with the person you are working with. Make sure you click!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Water. Solar battery. old iPod with a gazillion songs. Headphones. Guitar.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: Since I was 12! But professionally for over 16 years.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Dynamic

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Depends! I love learning from producers and getting hyped with different songwriters. Artists can be a little bit more in their heads, so working with producers and songwriters can be refreshing... it's all about the song (not the artist)!

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Take a break and then go back to listen.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Country and pop.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Vocal variety and tones of soft breathiness, to belting power.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Every voice is different, so I can only bring myself and my own vibe and energy to a song... and sing from my heart.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: First of all, I want to understand the direction of the project and figure out some references. Complete communication is always best! Then I will go in the booth and start recording. If I feel changes need to be done, I will know after hearing the recording, and reach out to the producer or songwriter.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Equipment: ● Microphones: AKG C214, Aston STEALTH ● UA Apollo Twin ● Professional studio / ISO VOX

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: My voice tends to gravitate towards other vocalists that I sound like. So I love singing along (and as tribute) to Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill, as well as listening to modern country singers such as Maren Morris and Kelsea Ballerini.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Providing the vocals and style the client is wanting.
