I can help you manifest a stream-worthy song that will excite, uplift, and capture the audience's attention. Making music is one of the BEST things to do in life; agree? If you do, contact me!
I'm a producer-artist who started music production in 2005-06 with recording artists in Toronto. In 2007 I began producing and remixing for CAPP Records in the San Francisco Bay Area, with whom I have a working relationship to this day. My productions have led to syncs on Keeping Up With The Kardashians (S10E1, S10E14), an iTunes Top 10 sales rank for a dance album (50 Chillout Tunes, Vol. 1), and support by DJ Roger Shah [DJ Mag Top 100, Rikah - Out of Time (Mello-Dee Club Remix)].
While living in San Francisco, I became interested in the health benefits of music. In 2014, I received certification in Sound In The Healing Arts from CIIS. I've also studied the art of Pop songwriting with Martin Sutton of The Songwriting Academy.
If you're ready to create uplifting dance music or relaxing chillout music, I am your producer. Contact me!

This was my first experience completing a project on SoundBetter, and I'm so glad I chose JMCX! I asked him to reproduce a classic 80's dance hit cover song while also creating a newer EDM remix of it and he did an amazing job staying loyal to the original (like I wanted), while bringing a lot of cool modern sounds to the updated EDM remix that simply blew me away. He was extremely professional, prompt, and was super helpful about revisions. Would definitely recommend highly!
His attention to detail is amazing as every aspect of his mixing & mastering goes beyond what my professional expectation's were as he also introduced me to better understand the overall production value each & every mixing element that goes into his work. Very communicative throughout every stage.. I highly recommend.
Interview with JMCX
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm finishing up a Holiday single
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: It's gonna be good!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Doing what I love
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have recording studio access? What's your recording experience level? What are your skill strengths and weaknesses with your music? Who are some artists that you want to sound like? What is your goal as an artist?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Know who you are as an artist and what music style most resonates with you
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I'm all digital cause it's relevant, but I enjoy using plugins and synths that recreate the warm analog sound.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Computer, AKG's, Subpac, cell phone, and something solar-powered to run all of it
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began producing dance music because I knew it was something I really wanted to do. In addition to coming up with my own tracks, I also used acapellas of other favorite tracks to practice on. Soon after that, I connected with a few other professional recording artists which led to productions, sales, sync licensing, etc. I've been doing this for about 15-16 years.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you feel excited about the song you're putting together, keep that version and make alternate versions if you have multiple ideas/sounds or styles for the song.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: EDM + Pop as a combination of the two
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Melody and sound choice
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Great melody and a pleasing production
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I'll have an idea and start with some of my favorite sounds to begin building the song. If I'm also coming up with vocal melody and lyric, those generally come as I'm producing the song. Lyrics get refined further along as the song progresses. Once the producing phase is done, then I'll move on to the mix session followed by stem mastering.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Custom-built rig, Studio One, favorite VSTs and plugins, AKG K812 headphones w/ Sonarworks, and soon to have the new Subpac X1+C1!

A: Producing and/or remixing the song
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Klaas, Vize, Jerome... they are inspiring producers with great skill
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Feel-good melodic EDM
