Young up & coming producers ready to work hard to finish your project! Previously worked with: Walk the Moon, Ghost Note, and Bad Veins. Our work is extremely detailed, modern, and song focused/driven!
We (The Blacktop Heroes) are both songwriter-producers who currently live and work in Los Angeles California. We love working with new artists to help them find their sound, and are especially interested in working with people who are looking to make modern sounding/feeling pop music.
Opportunities to work in some of the best rooms around LA as assistants have given us the chance to see behind the curtain and learn the in's and out's of the process of making music at the highest commercial level. Check out some of our work on our Soundcloud and hear for yourself!

Interview with The Blacktop Heroes
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: A lot of taking a song idea or part of a song and helping move it to a finished product for an artist.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Really well made music with extraordinary focus on the details. Artists like: Jon Bellion, Clean Bandit, John Mayer, SG Lewis, Cold Play, and so many others, have an exquisite attention to detail which is something we value highly and try to bring to our own work.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We work out of our home in Los Angeles California in a "One Room" where we do everything from writing to mixing and everything in between.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Once the song is finished we like to cut a great vocal and get it in place where it can drive the bus. Most people really only hear a vocal, so its the most important part and the thing we like to highlight. Then we work out whats supposed to be going on in the rest of the song bit by bit.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Modern pop taste. We love and live modern pop music. We try to keep things youthful and inventive with respect to the music we grew up on.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop Music and Singer Songwriter stuff
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Vocal is king. Thats it!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: We've been working in music now for for a combined 15 years starting as gigging musicians and slowly moving our way over towards producing and songwriting. Weve been working together as a team for a bit over a year now.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A computer, some speakers, a LDC Condensor, An Apollo Interface, and some snacks.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: What it means to be a producer, because people all do it so differently it can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people.
