Interview with Bad Generations
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: When I was still in school, I had the opportunity in helping track record and setup a full session for musicians and a critically acclaimed Nashville steel guitarist. It was a humbling moment where I valued myself more as an audio engineer.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog is a just a longer process but with an amazing and juicier result, if you know what your doing. I prefer digital because it's more accessible and quicker.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love delivering back beautiful mixes and making sure my clients are happy as well.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Music production tip? To always make sure a song stays interesting. Too many times I'll hear a modern song and it's has the most simplest and boring structure.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Lately I've been working with a lot of Hip Hop/Rap but will usually get back to some Indie, Folk, Latin, and R&B.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: What I like to bring to a song is clean edits, style, professionalism, high quality effects, groove, and balance.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I currently use a 2015 MacBook Pro, mirror that to a 32" ViewSonic VX3276-MHD, use a Mackie Pro FX8 V2 for home recording, a Icon Platform M+ for a smoother work flow, and a pair of Mackie CR3 monitors.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do a lot of editing, plenty of mixing and little mastering
