Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creating, I love to create. The freedom of producing music is the best feeling in the world, specially when a track is finished, producing music you can create all your ideas exactly as you want and turn them into reality, there are no limits for it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What type of sound like are you looking for? Do you have any artists you're inspired from for this project? Is there any track that inspired you to create yours?
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always take your time needed in a production, it means sometimes it can come very quick and sometimes slower, but in both cases take a pause for your ears and go back to it so that you're sure about the elements that have to be modified or not, I found out that the key is simplicity, it's not about adding a ton of elements in a track but the right ones.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: When I have to produce a track I get a lot of ideas for it in my mind, it's like I get the entire song in a minute and I just have to put it down.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Everytime I work on a project, I put all myself in it. I want everything to be perfect in all its details and that both me and who's working with are happy at 100% of the final result. I work in different ways depending on the request, for example if a singer has some ready vocals I will create an instrumental with it and we can modify what we want, or other ways we have to do something from zero I can suggest many ideas for it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I produce with Yamaha HS7 studio monitors, when I'm not in the studio and I'm travelling I produce on Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro studio headphones, plus I always try to then listen to my projects in different sources of audio.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I really like all genres of music and everything inspires me in different ways, from old to new artists, but mainly I like the music from David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Skrillex about electronic music as they produced everything in a various range of genres. I also listen to a lot of Hip Hop and R&B like Jay Z, Kanye West, Drake, Tyga, Chris Brown. As I started loving music as a guitar player I also am into bands a lot like the old school Megadeth and Metallica.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My most common type of work is to produce an entire track for singers, for example they recorded some vocals and they want me to create the instrumental for it and that's my favourite work to do, but also happened to both produce the track and write down the vocals as I always do in my own tracks as Alexinus.
