Interview with Whayne Clarke

Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
My most recent project was a music video. The song was and original song that I wrote, recorded and mixed myself. I also released another single at the same time. Those two singles are my proudest so far because the work done on the project was almost completely done by me.
What are you working on at the moment?
I'm currently working on an album of my own, as well as building my own client base.
Analog or digital and why?
I mix completely ITB. I don't have analog gear and actually prefer digital simply for the ease and convenience of it. I do, however, plan to build a full studio in the future with analog gear.
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
I promise to work my hardest to make sure your project sounds exactly how you want it to sound. There's nothing more special than hearing your own ideas brought to life.
What do you like most about your job?
I love music. Getting to experience people's creativity and be a part of bringing it to life is the best part of what I do.
What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
The biggest misconception about audio is that we are magicians. People think we can take bad audio and make it good, the truth is a polished turd is still a turd.
What type of music do you usually work on?
I love all types of music. However, being a Hip/Hop artist I mostly work in that genre. I've also done some rock tracks and Singer/Songwriter type tracks.
