Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will not stop until they are satisfied.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 20 years. I came to the studio environment as a session musician and then realised I could be useful the other side of the glass!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Thorough.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Positively making suggestions without taking control.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Well, I believe the element it is missing, depending on what I've been commissioned to do of course!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Slam Door Studios is a smaller pro studio set up for tracking, mixing and mastering. It took me a lot of trial and error to get the tracking and listening environments treated just right for me to get the results I want.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Those musicians and engineers in the earlier days of recording who only got one take at getting it right!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mastering and mix appraisals of pre masters. A lot of people need and appreciate mix appraisals to help them get the best pre master possible, especially if they are inexperienced in the process.
