Alma Goodman on SoundBetter

My career started in 2004 when I was a part of the most successful girl group in Iceland. Today I'm a full time songwriter and I've co-written songs such as "Remedy" by Alesso, "Nothing On Us" by The Him, "Stitch Em Up" by Frank Walker ft. Justin Jesso.

I can write a melody and/or lyrics to a track for you. I can record a demo of a song you have written or help you develop an idea you may have. I can record vocals for your song or comp your vocals on LogicX.

Alma is a true professional and it was an absolute pleasure working with her from start to finish. The final product, both topline/melody and lyrics were very well done.

Interview with Alma Goodman

  1. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  2. A: I usually write topline on tracks that my clients send me. Sometimes they may have the concept idea already, if not I come up with a title and concept I think suits the track. I always start by writing a catchy chorus and then build the verses and pre around that. I'm very open to changes and can quickly adjust the song to my clients needs.

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: I love my home studio setup where I work from. I have the latest MacBook Pro, LogicX, Duet by Apogee, RØDE NT1-A microphone, Yamaha HS8 W 8-Inch Powered Studio Monitor Speakers and a full size Yamaha keyboard.

  5. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  6. A: My strongest skill is definitely writing good and catchy choruses. That's the most important thing to me. I'm also good at developing concept ideas and tying ideas together in songs.

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: I write pop music in general, mainstream, electronic, indie, urban.. you name it.

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: The better idea you have of what you're looking for the happier you will be with the outcome. It's always better to have a direction for your project before you hire someone to work on it.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: It's creative and rewarding. There's nothing better than seeing a good song come to life. I couldn't see myself doing anything else.

  13. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  14. A: I always aim to deliver the best song possible, take direction easily and will always communicate with you throughout the work process.
