I'm a Grammy nominated mixer/producer with 20+ years of experience and a ton of versatility. I have had 2 Billboard top 25 rock tracks, produced a Billboard #1 Heatseeker and got a Radio Disney #1 too. I was in the Chris Lord-Alge camp (14 years) and worked with Rodney Jerkins, Ben Grosse and others before that.
I have done everything from active rock to film score in my fully outfitted studio with everything you need to make most records. I really love making guitar tracks and have 20+ guitars, 15 amps, and about 120 pedals. I also have a baby grand piano, Hammond M3 with Leslie, Rhodes, Clav, and a synth collection. There are two recording spaces for drums so I can get a thick tight sound or a brighter large space vibe.
Mixing wise I run a hybrid system with equal amounts of analog gear to go with the plug in stuff. I can use the analog summing rig to get a console sound, go more in the box, or go in between both.
I also get a steep discount for mastering at Sterling sound due to the high volume of tracks I send them.
Production wise, I am inspired by Rob Cavallo, Blake Mills/Shawn Everett, and Ben Grosse

Endorse Pietown Sound- check_circleVerified
In over 25 years this is the first time a first mix sat me back in my chair and just made me grin. The first time I have heard what I've been searching for in every mix and on every track for most of my career. This mix hits hard, grooves and highlights all the hidden details of the track, while maintaining volume and warmth. Keith's mix made this track gel. He's also a decent dude! Fast, professional and caring 10/10

Before coming to Pietown Sound, I had all of these styles in mind, Keith Armstrong helped me stay true to my heart's true style and simplified the sound I was looking for from all the styles I grew to love. Not many producers I can say will take the time to not only produce the right sound but to also be completely authentic and hardworking towards both the music and the artist's goal, a true producer. You want a producer that will give it his all? This is definitely the guy to reach out to! Thank you Keith
Keith Armstrong is a world class engineer with a creative ear and the ultimate gear. Just listen to anything he’s made. I also learn a lot just hanging around the guy. He's a very hard worker and he knows all the good local food spots. A+
There’s no one I trust more with mixing my music than Keith. When I was a less experienced producer, he elevated my work to a top-tier, professional level. Even now that I’ve learned to mix myself, I still send clients to Keith whenever I can because his ear always enhances the final product. For my own music, I exclusively trust Keith with my mixes. On top of his exceptional skill, he’s incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming. Working with Keith always makes me feel respected and valued as an artist.
Keith is such an amazing engineer, mixer, and producer. I've worked with him where he was in each one of these roles, and he's nothing but professional, a great hang, and knows how to help the artist get their music sounding great. Since I'm a drummer, I really key-in on the drum sounds, and he especially knows his stuff in that arena. He's mixed all of my SUPER DEAD DRUMS sample packs, which have made it onto hundreds of songs/film scores! He is an asset to any session he's on!
I connected with Keith / Pietown via SoundBetter in 2021 when I was looking for someone to mix my EP. Working with him was so great that I asked if he would consider producing for me in the future. Since then Keith has recorded, produced, + mixed 9 more songs for my band, in the pop / alternative rock genres. Keith’s awesome studio space + extensive gear collection is a treasure trove, matched with his incredible expertise + creativity that makes every working experience a 10/10. Keith is ridiculously smart + hard-working, great at communicating, + a lot of fun to work with. Highly recommend!
I've been working with Keith for over a decade and recommend him every chance I get. He's completely fluid between genres and takes the time to understand your project before he presses a single button. Revisions are easy, he's deeply patient and understanding. His studio is also a playground of equipment that would inspire anybody. Can't speak highly enough of him.
I have worked on dozens of projects over many years with Keith with him in the roles of recording engineer, mix engineer, producer and/or composer. He has brought a unique, professional and innovative perspective to each of these roles and has been an instrumental part (pun somewhat intended, Mang!) of some of the projects I am most proud of. Beyond that, he is a wonderful sociable guy and deals with the little snafoos and anxieties of working on large projects with grace and humor. I can’t recommend working with him enough.
Keith is an absolute wizard at turning raw soundscapes into celestial masterpieces. His ability to balance clarity, depth, and emotion is nothing short of alchemy. Every track emerges like a constellation—polished, precise, and breathtakingly vivid. They don’t just mix; they elevate, ensuring that every note resonates with cosmic perfection. If you’re looking for someone to bring your vision to life with brilliance and artistry, Keith is the one! An essential ally in any creative journey!
Keith has one of the best understandings of recording and mixing. His live tracking knowledge and ability is incredible. He also has a playground of equipment that he knows how to use effortlessly.
I’ve been working with Keith and his team for the better part of ten years on projects that range from industrial roc, electronic, and live orchestral music. He’s been my go-to guy for mixing and tracking any projects that need a big and broad sound. He’s fair with his time and his fees. I cannot recommend him enough!
Keith is my go to mixer for almost all genres of music I produce, but especially full band styles with guitars and drumkit. Expert, seasoned, easy to work with. Beyond knowledgeable and the highest level of attention to detail. Everything he mixes just sounds finished and “like a record.” And all the fun toys to help finish a production beyond just mixing.
Keith is one of the only people who has the engineering knowledge to back up his creativity. A true problem solver, Keith can get you the exact drum sound from your favorite record or a sound you've never heard before. I've worked with him both in recording sessions as well as mix sessions for almost 10 years on albums from psych rock to reggae to metalcore and in every single genre he makes sure the artist walks away with their dream song/mix/record.
I was the mixer and engineer in this production
- Mixing EngineerAverage price - $500 per song
- Recording StudioAverage price - $300 per day
- ProducerAverage price - $1000 per song
- Production Sound MixerAverage price - $700 per day
- Rehearsal RoomAverage price - $40 per hour
Mixes take one day and I will do as many mix revisions as necessary within reason. Stems are an extra $75/song. Recording days are about 10 hours, but I don't cut things off if we are on a roll.
