Charting music producer with 15+ years experience in the industry. I've produced many pop artists and bands all over the world either remotely or in the studio my team has built over the past 7 years.
After opening my studio (Electric Bear in the UK) at the age of 20, I have gone on to become a producer, engineer and mixer known for capturing and creating incredible records in almost every genre. From a background in Rock & Metal to recording Jazz Orchestras, I have a depth of knowledge that is coveted by most producers and why bands & artists from across the world are adding themselves to my client list.
With over 1000 records & shows under his belt, I have worked with names such as;
Maggie Szabo/Our City Fires/Hung Like Hanratty/Katie London/Scribble Victory/Georgia Burgess/Stormbringer/Dirty Rotten Souls & more.
Let's have a chat, a hot drink (if you're local) and lets make some music!

Endorse Simon HopkinsonSimon is a hero in the studio, it doesn't matter what instrument, idea or vision you pull out the bag he will actually LISTEN to you (very rare in this current world of 'pro'ducers) and work WITH you to produce something everyone involved can be proud of.
He is happy to add ideas and input while at the same time won't be precious at all if you don't want to use them and will endeavour to create the sound and scope you're aiming to achieve.
Every piece of work I've worked on with Simon has not only met but exceeded my expectations, everything he does meets industry standards.Simon is not only extremely talented, but is open minded and relaxed throughout the entire process.
Nothing is too much trouble and his commitment to the artist’s vision is invaluable.
I cannot recommend Simon enough, he is without doubt the best producer I’ve worked with.
Interview with Simon Hopkinson
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Metallica or Beyonce. They don't need a reason, let's be honest.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Practice makes perfect and don't complicate things.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually this tends to be rock, indie rock, pop or urban music
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Taking a recording and producing a commercially viable song
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A fresh set of ears, experience, Yes & No's and a professional capture
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Pro Tools for recording, Logic Pro X for sequencing. Good veins (cabling), excellent AD/DA converters, appropriate microphones /pre's and a relaxed atmosphere. I wouldn't want to bore you with our studio's specification... Message me for more details.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I have a soft spot for popular drummers, mainly because they inspired me to enter the music industry and learn drums professionally. Too many names to name and it wouldn't be fair to shine light on one or two in particular.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The majority of clients I work with are upcoming bands & artists looking to create their best piece of work to date. I tend to find myself in the typical 'the modern producer' role in which my client likes input from my experience on how to create an enjoyable and emotional track whilst applying my technical abilities of a professional recording.
