Katy Rose is a Los Angeles native. At 13, she began writing songs of her own that garnered the attention of a number of record labels.The single “Overdrive” from Katy's album with V2 Records "Because I Can" was used as a featured track on the Mean Girls movie soundtrack, a film that went on to become a pop culture classic. A selection of other songs from Because I Can were featured in major mainstream projects such as Agent Cody Banks, Dawson’s Creek, Grey’s Anatomy and several national commercials. After years of world touring with The Cardigans, Liz Phair and The Calling with Alex Band, “Overdrive” reached a spot on the Top Ten Airplay in France, Switzerland and South Africa. The single went to #1 on the Airplay in Japan and the song’s music video made the top 20 video countdown on MTV. Katy's recently had songs in the Electronic Art's SIMS 3 video games and collabs with The 2Cellos. She splits her time between LA and Paris and is ready to collaborate with YOU.
