Hey everyone. I'm a Grammy Award-winning engineer / producer who's also worked on 14x Billboard No.1 and 8x No.1 UK Official Charts hits, as well as 12x other Grammy nominated projects. I'm here to mix!
For the past decade or so I've been lucky enough to work with some very talented artists in the studio such as Ed Sheeran, Benny Blanco, Halsey, Maroon 5, the Weeknd, One Republic, Cashmere Cat, Justin Bieber, Rixton, the Roots, Jessie Ware, and Rihanna, among many others, and also have been able to vocal produce some wonderful singers like Julia Michaels, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, Gwen Stefani, Joe Jonas and more.
I'd love to mix whatever you've got for me!
At heart I am a musician and I approach mixing from that standpoint. Performance, feel, expressiveness, dynamics, tone all play an important part. I like being able to guide a listener through the song by creating movement between the parts and layers which is an important way to catch and keep the listeners attention and make listening to music an even more pleasant experience.
Other accolades mentioned: 1x Grammy Certificate, 2x Grammy Nominations, 9x Grammy Project Nominations

Interview with Chris Sclafani
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Ah yes, the age old question. When it comes to efficiency and recall speed I'd say digital is the clear winner when it comes to mixing. You could open up a file from days or weeks past and have it be exactly where you left it. That kind of thing is invaluable when bouncing around between sessions. Also, plug ins like UAD, FabFilter, Soundtoys, iZotope, etc. sound phenomenal and have been taking the places of their analog counterparts for a while now. But there are definitely times where I'll run a vocal or guitar (or..anything hah) through some kind of outboard preamp or compressor, pedals, or reamp it a way I wouldn't be able to re-create it well in the box. Also, it's fun turning knobs in the moment and capturing something a little different that adds a little something unique to the song.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is that I'd do everything I could to get my clients music sounding how they want it and to not stop until they are happy. When someone hires me to do a service the job isn't done until they feel satisfied and can walk away knowing they got exactly what they wanted.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like that I get to wake up everyday and make music with people who enjoy it as much as I do. I also enjoy the process of sitting down with a mix and piecing it all together because I like approaching it kind of like a puzzle.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Right now I'm using Pro Tools with UA hardware. From there I go into a Black Lion Sparrow D/A which then goes into a Dangerous Music Source and out to my Focal Solo6s, ProAcs, and mixcubes. I also have a couple of analog synths, guitars/amps, and a handful of pedals to run things through.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I like to know what they were listening to while they work on their own music. I always ask what inspired them to write a song a certain way, what kind of mood they want the listener to feel, and what their end goal for the project is (release plans, shows/tour, for fun) because that helps me understand where everything is coming from and going, which is useful when it comes time to produce or mix to try and capture that same spirit.
