“I want everybody to know that I consider Matt Becks to be an absolute joy to make music in any context. Great feel and technique and amazing discipline. A solid and tasteful player”–Abraham Laboriel Sr. (Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Elton John & many more). I've worked with Cirque Du Soleil, 30 Seconds To Mars, Chris Brown, and so many more.
Now Grammy Award winner for my mixing engineer work with John Legend (Bigger Love). I've been studying music since I was a kid. Learning the piano, trombone & other instruments, vocal lessons plus the music theory while becoming a professional drummer gives me a unique understanding of the song structure & arrangements. I have a very melodic approach and I'm quick to anticipate where the song is going saving a lot of time in the studio. I'll elevate your music with the perfect melodic beat/groove or any other instrumentation. "What first caught my attention about Matt was his ability to play a complicated pattern but still keep the groove going. I like watching drummers incorporate their own personality into playing, separating them from the rest of the pack." -Shannon Leto (30 Seconds to Mars). ”Matt reminds me of Mitch Mitchell & Keith Moon.”-Mark Hudson (record producer, musician and songwriter). "He’s an amazingly solid and tight drummer!" -Tony Royster Jr. (Jay-Z, DW - Drum Workshop)
"He reminds us of Magella Cormier (James Gelfand & more) and blow our mind with an incredible musicality!"
-Jacques Masson & Dany Richard (College Lionel-Groulx, Oliver Jones, Montreal Drumfest, Premier Drums)
"He’s a very talented guy and super pleasant to work with." -Ange E. Curcio (Corey Heart, Celine Dion, Éric Lapointe, Montreal Drumfest, Pearl Drums).

Endorse Matt BecksIf you're looking for a versatile, "bury the click" drummer, this is your one-stop-shop. Hire Matt!
I have worked, performed and recorded with Matt over a span of 15 years. His proffessionalism, work ethic, passion and skill is world class! He has recorded drums for me, not even knowing what the actual production is going to sound like, only using a click, a description and a guitar track, yet every time he would blaze the path for me to complete the song. His intuitive skills are bar none! He is the most musical drummer I have ever known, which is why I don't consider him a drummer; he is an artist, a producer, a sound healer, a musician, a performer. All of the above. One of the best, period
Making music with Matt Becks has a way of reminding me why I fell in love with being a musician in the first place. His range of musicianship seems endless, he can play with complete consistency as well as with complete creativity. I endorse him wholeheartedly.
Abraham LABORIEL Sr.
Matt is a fantastic studio drummer and all around great musician. He's very attentive and his musical choices are clearly aimed at servicing the music. Great personality, great musical sensibility, a true pro! Highly recommended.
