Javon Aziz

Musician, Mix Engineer

Javon Aziz on SoundBetter

Hi, my name is Javon and I am a musician/mix engineer based in Lancashire. I recently graduated with a First from UCLan (Music) and am currently studying a Music MA. I am able to work in both popular music and experimental music (including experience working with microtones). Soundtrack is also something I enjoy working on as I love collaboration.

As a musician, my main instruments are guitar and bass guitar. With these, I am confident learning parts and also working with improvisation. However, over the last 4 years I have also started learning drums and worked with electronic music composition (picking up sound designing skills and greater ability to play keyboard based instruments).

Through electronic music, I started experimenting with alternative tuning systems and started working (not exclusively) with microtonal composition. This is a field that isn't very common amongst most (western) musicians and is something that I am continuing to research, practice and hope to bring to other people's projects.

I have also worked as a live sound engineer for over 5 years and recorded various projects (both live and in studios). My preferred sound is raw and true to an artist's live sound but I am also able to work with more post-production heavy briefs. In addition to this, I am also eager to work as a producer/writer for other artists.

If you have any questions or wish to collaborate on a project, don't hesitate to contact me. I hope that we can work together soon!

  6. A: At my core I am a musician and playing (both live and on recordings) is what I like to work on most of the time. In addition to this I want to work more as a producer, creating songs for other people. Soundtrack (for film, game and theatre) is also something I love to work with.
