Don't settle for anything less than legendary.
Why do I engineer and produce audio? Not only because of my fascination with the science of sound, but because an audio project should not be simplified into just instruments playing in unison or people talking into microphones. It is a collection of sounds, fighting to work together in the perfect way; yet, there is no manual on how!
More importantly, it is an aspect of one's imagination and emotion that is exemplified through their creative release. In order for your audience to understand your creative genius and the message you are sending, it has to sound clean and clear. Kool-Nerd Productions is a company that strives to bring clarity to your message.
How do I plan to do that you ask?! By combining a strong work ethic, top-notch hardware/software, and the knowledge I acquired while in attendance at Capital University and The Recording Workshop, I can produce a sound quality that runs synonymous to the industry standard!

Endorse Kool-Nerd ProductionsI had a fantastic experience with Cory. He worked quickly and efficiently and my EP turned out better than I could have expected. He listens well and also helps guide you during the recording phase to assure that he captures top notch quality. He does his best to help your vision come to fruition. I highly recommend his services, and I will be using him again in the future.
I have been working with Cory since the moment he graduated school. As owner of a radio station, we need help with audio restoration. I can recall several times where our most difficult to please client was unhappy with his recordings. We'd call in Cory to fix our mess and he delivered each and every time. The work ethic is incredible. The honesty he displays about what can and can't be accomplished is most valuable. This enabled us to obtain the highest level of quality without an unreal expectation. This is very important when dealing with clients. Satisfaction was always obtainable.
I’ve been having Kool Nerd mix all of my projects & singles since 2015. Cory is the dude to go too. He helps me elevate all my ideas & bring the whole project full circle and sound incredible!
Not to mention the amount of things I’ve learned from him along the way. I highly reccomend!Cory is great to work with, and can be trust to give honest and direct feedback. His technical skills and creative intuition are excellent, and he always delivers on time.
Great mix and mastering skills! Always prompt and easy to work with. A real genius with his craft have zero complaints #Fire!!!!
I've been a loyal customer since I put his mixing skills to the test in 2011. And every single time he manages to amaze me with how he can make my songs come to life.
My dude at kool nerd he is the best mix and master. He also makes great beats and he is my go to guy for after mix services.
Interview with Kool-Nerd Productions
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been producing since I was 11 years old and engineering since I was 15 years old. I am now 29 going on 30, so I've been doing this for awhile! My career path has taken me many routes! I have done/am doing radio, podcasting, audiobooks, and music! I want to do all the things that are fun to me and explore as many options as possible! I like being well-versed in the many facets of audio but hope to find craft that I choose to stick with soon!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: B4Lasers! That dude is amazing and he actually put me onto SoundBetter! He played me a bunch of his mixes and I'm highly impressed with his skillset!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. I mean... I'm sure we all have parents with a VHS collection that are collecting dust. They are great for nostalgia but there's a reason we have moved away from that technology.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It's creative and technical at the same time! There's no right or wrong way to do anything, but there's an efficient way to accomplish a great sound. Everyone can meet the same end-goal, 20 different ways!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't use stock sounds! Purchase sounds when you can; however, if you really want to feel accomplished and get a unique sound, make and blend your own samples and instruments!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop! I love hip-hop of all kinds but I'm not afraid to venture out if needed. I come from a very diverse musical background so I use my knowledge of other genres to push the barriers of hip-hop!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say that communication and time management are my biggest strong suits. I will touch base as many times as needed to ensure I get things right for my clients. I also hate making them wait but I don't want the process to feel rushed. I find that happy medium and deliver high quality work!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: CLARITY! Every song has a message. Its a work of art and it has to reach the people without the snare being too loud, or the guitars not sounding right, or a synth being too flat! Each piece plays a role and I want them to be perfect!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like the send mixes/beats in pieces. Since everything is done over the internet, sometimes the artist doesn't feel like they are apart of the process so I send my work in stages so that artist can interject and add their thoughts on the process. Specifically for mixing, I have a dry mix stage with no effects (this allows the artist to ensure everything is there and that the general levels are correct), then I have a wet mix stage (this step has all the effects). In between those 2 stages I allow and encourage adjustments!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home studio that I have been building since I was 17 years old. Each time I have moved, this crazy setup has had to come with me, but over the years I have added on to it and refined it in a way that give me the perfect listening environment! The room is treated and I have a 10in subwoofer for mixing low-end! Check my gear list for more specifics!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My biggest inspiration at the moment is Jon Bellion! The way he interprets music and combines sounds and effects is amazing. I also thoroughly enjoy his musical concepts.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I do is mixing hip hop music. I specialize in lyrical/boom bap hip hop specifically!
