Jeff Jackson went from aspiring artist to being a sought after mixing engineer. With an ear and passion for music, Jeff made his way to one of the biggest hubs for music, Los Angeles in 2014.
That move landed him a gig at the famous Larrabee Studios as a runner. He quickly worked his way up the ranks to becoming assistant mix engineer to Manny Marroquin in only 8 months. Jeff worked alongside Manny for 3 years on countless projects. It was there that he learned how a record should sound. Jeff had a hand in albums for some of today’s biggest Pop, Alternative and Hip-Hop musicians including John Mayer, Miley Cyrus, Common, Rihanna, Linkin Park and Kanye West. In 2017, Jeff left the studio to freelance full-time.
Originally from Chicago, Jeff’s mixing career began at Classick Studios on the City’s North Side. Having worked in Chicago’s buzzing underground music scene for 4 years, his time at Classick Studios helped him sharpen his skills and hone in on his craft.
With several years of experience behind him, Jeff has developed a strong list of clientele. A list that challenges him professionally to capture the sonic imagery, creating a lush sound. His creative technique and humility allows him the ability to incorporate both the artist and producers vision before he finalizes the mix.
Inspired by those before him, he takes what he has learned and continues to build.
