Hello! My name is Hayden, and I'm a producer, songwriter, and mixer from Alexandria, Virginia.

I studied electronic music composition at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where I learned both classical music theory and contemporary recording techniques. Since then, I have produced and mixed an acoustic cover of Prince's "I Would Die 4 U" with my friend Lucy Dacus, had my single "In The Fading Light" written about in the FADER, and played concerts in cities such as Los Angeles, Paris, and New York.

Hayden mixed two singles that I released in 2019. He added a certain level of magic that I never imagined for the tracks. Not only did his attention to detail blow me away, but also his excellent work ethic and quick turn-around of drafts, edits, etc. You can hear his incredible musicianship, heart, and dedication in all of his work, from mixing projects to his own personal music and writing. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I'm as invested as you are in making this project the best it can be.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't helicopter parent! I like thinking of songs like children - you gotta let them become who they want to be. Even when we have preconceived notions of what we want, it's often healthy to let them go if the song starts pulling in another direction.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Deep experience at every stage of the record-making process. Plus some music theory (when helpful). :)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I like to keep the studio as minimal as possible. Right now, we've got the Townsend L22 microphone (versatile and oh-so-beautiful-sounding) headed into an Apollo x4, with speakers/sub from ADAM and MIDI keyboards from Arturia and Novation ready to go.
