Berklee College of Music graduate with a BM in Songwriting (2018) and a Presidential Scholar in the Arts (2014). TEGA has released an original album, titled “Body”, available now on iTunes & streaming services and is constantly focused on creating new content.
My name is Joseph Ewatuya aka TEGA, and I am a 22-year old singer/songwriter from Dallas, TX also working to raise awareness for Sickle Cell Anemia, which is an autoimmune disease that I currently live with. I started singing at a young age, training classically, before learning more about jazz & contemporary styles at an Arts Magnet high school. Upon graduating i received an award as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts. I can sing most any style, though I do have a lower chest voice range with a more flexible falsetto.
I started songwriting in my senior year but it wasn’t until attending college that I took it seriously and pursued a career in original music. I grew up always listening to old-school R&B and hip-hop, due to my family background and experiencing life as a young black American, so this style of music has a big influence in my life. However, I’m also very open to almost any style of music and enjoy creating music that doesn’t pertain to any genre.
Please inquire for all vocal or songwriting session services, I live in Dallas but can also remotely work from home.
