He was incredible to work with honestly. The workflow communication was unbelievably smooth between the two of us. He listened to my ideas and not only did he come back to me with samples of what I wanted, but he also went out of his way and created his own melodies for what he thought might work for the song! And guess what? It was his melody that eventually made it onto the final piece of the song. I will definitely be working with Saxman1292 in the future.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: The producer, Konn, has me on records and is making waves in dance music.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I think a bit of both is the way to achieve the best result. I have $20,000 + in analog summing and mastering gear, but each song and approach is different to best serve the music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Versatility across genres and tones, understanding how to fit into a production.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Saxophone and Clarinet overdubs, mixing and mastering.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Full sax section parts for an electro swing house tune.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Dance/Pop.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Impactful playing with a producers mindset.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Be mindful of scientific notation (ex: E1, E2, E3, etc. on your piano roll) when you voice the notes in your chords/leads/melodies/bass/etc - you can avoid mix issues and create space in your productions by keeping each part out of each others way in the sonic space. (example: if your bass is playing E1 (E0 in Ableton) then it is prudent to not have E1 playing in any other synth/piano,etc..)
