Interview with New Attitude Productions

  1. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  2. A: I have been a bandleader and instrumentalist for some 40 years. I have recorded custom demos for numerous songwriters as well as for my own band. I create high quality detailed custom MIDI arrangements (some with live instruments as well) for shows, bands, and other purposes. If you've been using commercially available karaoke tracks, this would be an upgrade... medleys & custom arrangements are a specialty. Also, written music arrangements, either from existing recordings or from your own specs.

  3. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  4. A: I have a minimal MIDI/digital studio, I keep the amount of gear to a minimum in order to fully maximize my knowledge of the equipment and software, thereby get the most out of it.

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: You tell me what you need, I do it! If adjustments are needed, no problem, no additional charges.

  7. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  8. A: While there's no such thing as 'perfection', I always want to get the best possible result for me and/or my clients. I will often tweak a track until I think it's just right... then, go back and fix it again if need be.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I have been a professional musician for some... wow, 45-50 years (GASP!) . Obviously very experienced in numerous facets of the music business.

  11. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  12. A: The intent of the finished product, type of style, your budget...

  13. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  14. A: It's probably a cliche, but you will be satisfied with what I provide for you, or we'll keep fixing it until you are. But that's actually never been an issue. I had one client who wanted me to digitally write out his barely legible hand written lead sheet . . . I had to go back and make changes 2-3 times to get it correct (because I couldn't read what he wrote !) but I was happy to do it.
