Harley J Producer/Musician Obsessive Dreamer Helping artists with their authentic sound and having lasting impact
I'm a producer/mixer from Adelaide, Australia where I have my studio near the city. I've written and produced songs with local bands/Singer-songwriters in my area as well as internationally from various parts of the world.
Producing and recording music isn't just what I do, it's who I am. I want to help capture the authenticity of any artist or band who really want to make something special - whether it's a vocal/piano version of a song or a fully produced pop record with a string section.
Please get in touch if this is what you're looking for and we can chat about how you want your song to sound and making your authentic sound have lasting impact :)

Interview with Harley J Productions
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What's the big vision goal with your music?
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is often interactive. Constantly asking questions making sure the artist is comfortable and being heard, respected and valued. We want to make sure that we are both on the same page.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Getting a good sound right from the source is commonly over looked when in the production stage. Whether it's choosing the right mic for the vocalist or guitar. Or even choosing the right guitar tones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I follow Austin Hull pretty closely, I'm a big fan of his production style. Ryan Tedder is also someone who I always find I can learn something from by listening to his productions.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Music Production
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I won't say the classic 'Analog sounds warmer' and I also won't say that "Digital is way easier to work with and helps the work flow" But hey, it's like choosing your favourite flavour of ice cream, is there really a right answer?
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will always go above & beyond to make sure the client is happy and pleased with the product. If that means it takes twice as long then so be it. It's worth it for something we can all be proud of.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Working with people and not just for them.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That the producer/engineer tends to 'Take over' the song and the project. I simply want to try and bring as much life to the project as I possibly can. I want to help the artist help me to help them.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Bringing the best out of the artists ideas. Helping elevate to take things to new heights.
