Professional analog & digital mastering, specialized in all types of electronic music.
My name is Nick, founder of "sonyx-audio.com". I'm an educated audio engineer, working and living in Belgium. After working in one of Belgium's most honorable recording studios, I decided to start a little company on my own.
Because I'm in a cooperation with 2 high-end studios, I can adapt the studio to your price. In one studio we're only using the very best analog gear on the market (starting from 55$). The other studio is using a collection of the best plugins that can be found these days. Both precision studios are acoustically treated by professional companies.
I'm specialized in mixing & mastering electronic music. More information can be found on https://sonyx-audio.com

Interview with Sonyx Mastering
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Every track will be treated in a professional studio. No home mixing and mastering will be done. Everyone has to decide for himself but I think the use of real professional gear can't be compared with a home studio, even if they have a nice pair of speakers.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog, there is a reason all plugins are trying to sound like true analog gear. This doesn't mean that a digital mastering is inferior. There are plugins on the market that are so accurately simulated that even a well trained ear is not able to sound the difference.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being able to bring that extra touch to a person's work.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Every mix and master is different but I think in general I aim to keep my tracks warm but with enough clarity and transparency to compete other tracks.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Please be aware of the difference between a home producer, mixing -, mastering engineer and a professional one.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: After finishing my studies in Electronics & audio productions. I started working for one of the biggest recording studios in Belgium. In january 2019 I started my own little company "Sonyx" (sonyx-audio.com).
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't forget to eat, sleep is overrated.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Techno, Electro, Drum & Bass, Hip Hop, Trance & House
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My technical skills and experience of over 10 years in electronic music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I will give a tracks what's necessary for it to compete with other tracks in his genre.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First I'm looking for some reference tracks to find te right feeling. If necessary I will use EQ first to adapt the frequency curve to the reference tracks. This has only have to be done when there are real problems in the mix. After that I'll look for the right compressor(s) & compression settings if necessary (most of the time it does). Saturation and small eq adaptations comes after, along with imaging and limiting. This is only a typical process. Every tracks needs his own working process and there will be looked after carefully.
