Ricardo Tolbert is a grammy nominated CHI based recording engineer, mixing engineer and producer. Ricardo has worked with an extensive roster of major recording artists, labels, TV networks and brands. As and assistant engineer, staff engineer and producer, he has worked with artists, networks and brands such as G Herbo, Jeremih, G.O.O.D Music, Walmart, Fox and the Olympics.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Ill come back when to this question at the end of this year.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on a duo project with a singer and producer.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don't know anyone.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid. I feel like theres still a need for analog. Digital is based off analog so you need to understand analog so you can understand digital.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I can get your records to the next step.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That I get to meet new people everyday.

A: Q: "What do you think?" A: "I know it sound great."
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I'm a Dj lol

A: Be patient and clear on what you want. Use the right terms that we can both understand.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Take a chance and trust that I can get you where you need to be or want be sonically.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started making beats when I was in 6th grade on FL Studio 8. Graduated high school and decided to go to school for music and take it serious. I was trying to work anywhere I could just learn more and record as much as I could. I then moved to Chicago in 2017 and never looked back.

A: Clean

A: I would like to work with 21 savage because he's so creative.

A: Balance and organiztion is key.

A: Rap and Pop.

A: I bring creativity and clarity.

A: I like to get up early as I can to finish a mix or beat.

A: I have small home studio, and I also work at Chicago Recording Company.

A: Im inspired by recording engineers such as Greg Well, to producers like Metro Boomin.

A: I mostly mix.
