Recording, Mixing Engineer, Producer and Songwriter, Ba in Sound Production, been in the recording and mixing ambient for the last 8 years obtaining an HND and a Ba in Sound Production. I can Record, Mix and Produce different genres from Folk to Djent Metal.
If you recorded on your own or had a friend who did a poor job, you can count on me to make your tracks shine.
Hi, I am Dario, I have been a musician for over 20 years focusing on recordings for the last 15 years. I moved to Edinburgh in 2014 where I attended Edinburgh College where I got my HND in Sound Production, graduating in 2016. I then attended the Ba(Hons) in Sound production at Edinburgh College in 2021.
My production is about capturing the mood of the song without too much digitalization to keep the songs as personal as possible. This is achieved by having real instruments and capturing them at their best.
I have access to a Studio facility near the Shore in Edinburgh called Secret Basement Studio with top quality equipment and offers a very welcoming vibe.
I have worked with musicians such as Luke Watterson, Santino Salvadore, Marmion, and Van Tastik as well as producing my own material that spaces from Singer-songwriter to Post Metal.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with HIAC Recordings
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Cold And Dry by Luke Watterson. The song was produced between Luke's flat and mine. We recorded the piano at his place and the vocals at mine we then had a German Cellist record the cello which I then mixed. Although the song is not very complex as it has 3 takes for the piano, a couple of takes for the vocals and cello, I managed to bring out the mood of the song.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Queens of the Stone Age, their way of creating music and their production sometimes is so basic that it feels very complex, which allows the song to sound huge.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Singer-Songwriter, Post-rock/Post-Metal, Rock and Stoner
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Driving the musicians to give the 100%
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: When I produce, record, and mix a song, I tend to bring out the feeling of the song trying not to digitalize too much by adding too many plugins or auto-tune.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have access to Secret Basement Studio in Leith which I can use as Dry Hire with access to all the equipment (a vast array of Microphones, Analog outboard gears, Several Valve Amps, three drumkits, and different instruments
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Queens Of The Stone Age, Elliott Smith, Sigur Ros, Architects, Periphery, Damien Rice, Fei Comodo
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I record and mix, alternatively, I can only do mixing if the band has recorded the songs themselves but they do not like the overall mix.
