Music and I were destined to meet. It became my first love at the ripe age of five, and we’re still going strong after all these years. My last production, NotesSpeak 12, in the best albums of 2023, the MASTERPIECES https://downbeat.com/news/detail/best-albums-of-2023

My name is Marco, I am a highly experienced professional pianist/keyboard player based in Italy. I have a broad range of skills acquired by forty years experience working as a session musician as well as live performer, composer, arranger and producer, my last album "NoteSpeak 12" for Ropeadope Records received a 5 star review from Downbeat Magazine.
Styles including but not limited to Jazz, Blues, RnB, Soul, Bossanova, Pop, Rock.
I am available for a single track or for full sessions.

Or for real studio session, live, with me playing on your song while you direct me, give me advice, and help me to better achieve your goal.
First of all contact me and send me your track, to make sure it is suitable for this kind of work. However if its a pop, rock, jazz etc. song or even an instrumental piece with a simple structure will be fine (no classical music with sheet music of several pages please).

Click the 'Contact' above to get in touch. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Marco is an amazing musician that I have worked with for years. He has arranged several charts for me and I have been the benefactor of his talents on stage many times. He has even coached me through some studio recording sessions. There is quiet confidence that he exudes musically and an accuracy with his work that has always gotten rave reviews from audience members and musicians alike. I cannot state strongly enough here, how much I value his work ethic, skill, and musicianship.

Marco has done a great deal of "virtual" work for me, especially on my album aptly called The Italian Project. We were able to seamlessly fly tracks back and forth between Italy and the US. Marco is incredibly versatile and that was necessary as each track had a flavor of its own. I would highly recommend Marco for your keyboard tracks of all styles, no matter where you are in the world!

Interview with Marco Cremaschini

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My last album with Lisa Marie Simmons "NoteSpeak 12" (Ropeadope 2023) received 5 stars from Downbeat Magazine (plus many other positive reviews). I am the producer, composer, arranger and keyboard player... and I also cooked for the musicians :-)

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: A new album jazz-fusion

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Both.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: To always do my best!

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Freedom

  11. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  12. A: No misconceptions, I've always received 5 stars with my works.

  13. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  14. A: None if the indications are sufficiently precise ;-)

  15. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  16. A: Try to provide the best material you can: tracks, scores, references...

  17. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  18. A: Piano, rhodes, nord key, mac, guitar

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  20. A: I touched a piano for the first time when I was five. You could say it was love at first sight, and I took advantage of every occasion to make hideous sounds on two tiny little keys. I wasn’t very good until I became decent, and my zeal has lasted for years. The people who showed me the piano doomed me to a lifetime of passion and zero interest in anything but music. Over the years, I’ve been a self-taught artist who preferred to “steal” techniques and inspiration from those who were better than me, hoping that the student would become the teacher one day. Given the fact that I’m now a modern piano teacher at the “L’Altrosuono” school in Brescia, you could say that I kinda made it. When I’m not performing, composing, recording music in my studio, or using the piano as brain food, you may find me cooking actual food and cycling around the country to work it off. I also happen to be tech-savvy and am able to produce pieces for IT-related projects.

  21. Q: How would you describe your style?

  22. A: Clean and refined, without too many frills but with the right embellishments when needed.

  23. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  24. A: Too many :-)

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Make a nice pre-production, even with virtual instruments and then choose the right musicians!

  27. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  28. A: From pop to jazz through blues, funk, rock...

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: Playing the right chords according to the melody and musical genre.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: Harmony, rhythm and.. poetry!

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: It's like a real studio session, live, with me playing on your song while you direct me, give me advice, and help me to better achieve your goal. How does it work? You send me the material of your song, backing track, sheet music, etc., and at the set time, we'll meet on video chat. Then you, via an Audiomovers plugin, will be able to listen live and in high quality to what I'm recording, and you can intervene at any time. The whole thing will last 30 minutes( or 60 or 90), and afterward, you will have the takes that were recorded with your help. No back and forth with the usual misunderstandings that may normally arise when you don't know each other musically.

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: My main audio interface is a Audient iD44 with which I record both instruments such as the acoustic piano and rhodes and the Nord

  37. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  38. A: Steely Dan, Sting, Bill Evans, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, A.C. Jobim ........ and many others

  39. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  40. A: I play piano (acoustic and electric) tracks, I don't need a real score, I can create an arrangement starting from the harmony of the song
