Hi, I’m Brad Smalling, and my story’s a simple one: I’m all about making the best recordings that my clients have ever heard.
Still reading? Good. Because that’s what you can expect from me – commitment and passion – and I’m looking for the same from the bands and recording artists I work with. That’s why I’m also committed to talking through your goals and objectives up front, before we ever hit the studio, so that I can understand your work, your vision, and your objectives. I want to hear more than that, though. I want to hear your prior recordings, and I want to understand what you loved (and didn’t love) about them. I want to hear albums and recordings by other artists that have inspired you and your project.
Frankly, I want to hear it all. And I want you to hear it all, too. That’s why I keep my recording clients updated at every stage of the recording, mixing and mastering process. That includes a secure, live remote streaming service provided at no extra charge, so you can literally listen to the entire process of your recordings being mixed and mastered.
I’ve worked with artists in a broad variety of genres for over a decade in Colorado’s best solar-powered recording facility. They’ve walked in with full hearts, and walked out with full ears, and I’d love to do the same for you.
Let’s make something remarkable together.

Reviews of Brad Smalling
Had an awesome experience working with Brad again. Great communication and a great guy. Would work again with him anytime.
Very professional. Easy to work with. Kept the job rolling. Good ear.
Brad went above and beyond to give my song exactly what I wanted. He gave my mixes what I've always wanted to hear out of my own music. Thank you Brad!
I worked with Brad when I was a sophomore at Evergreen High School. My friends and I came to Evergroove with a tune we had written. Brad was always helpful, even in the face of our naivety. He helped the drummer tune his drums, imbued us with confidence and cracked jokes to keep the energy right. The product was a sparkling piece of rock and roll.
I had the great opportunity to work with Brad on my last two singles which he mix and mastered. He has a great ear for what to tweak to bring out the best in you songs, something many engineers I've worked with have yet to develop. He is a very down to earth person to work with and knows how to incorporate your wants on top of mastering needs.
Brad has mixed 2 EPs and a full album for us. Although we are based in South Korea and he is in America he 'gets' what kind of sound we want without the need for us to be in the mix room. People always remark on the very high sound quality of our releases. Brad's easy to work with and goes way above and beyond what is necessary or expected!
Brad kicked butt recording our americana/acoustic/bluegrass album. Although all of our band members got along fine, we still had 4 different sets of ears and about twice as many opinions for how the thing should sound. Brad helped us work through the entire process and made it sound wonderful. All were pleased. Brad and Jenny make a fabulous team.
If Brad was only a phenomenal engineer, or only an expert mixing/mastering professional, he'd be among the top talents in the nation - let alone in Colorado. But he's both, and more besides: a savvy producer, a partner and coach for the recording process, and - most importantly of all - someone musicians can trust to make the most of their work.
