Interview with Jeremy James Kong
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Why not both? Both have their pros and cons.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That I get to make music and play with sounds all day long.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Macbook Pro, BeyerDynamic DT880 headphones, a 25-key MIDI keyboard, an Audient iD14 and my Fender Stratocaster
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: That I'm flexible: I constantly work with different genres of music; whether it's a heavy vibe or a chill vibe or anything in between, I can bring that to the table with no issues.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Texture. I love the creative use of effects in songs; be it in the background or upfront.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work on a 15-inch 2014 MacBook Pro; plugged into 2 Acer monitor screens, running Logic Pro X. My audio interface is a Tascam US16x08 while I monitor through a pair of KRK Rokit 5s and BeyerDynamic DT880s.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Producing and arranging music from the demo stage to mixing the final product at the end
