Musician, engineer and artist living in Utica, NY. Founder of Newlywed Records + assistant engineer @ Big Blue North Recording Studio. Available to produce, record + mix in studio or remotely. Some of my projects have been featured in major publications (Rolling Stone, NPR, Stereogum).

As a producer, I especially enjoy the process developing songs with artists. Shaping an arrangement is a big, open-ended puzzle, made even more interesting when considering an artist’s character.

I also offer mixing services, either at home or Big Blue North (featuring a control room designed by John Storyk, a Neve 5088 console + loads of crazy outboard gear).

You can check out samples of my work in the player. Included are previews of tracks that I've recorded, produced and mixed.
0:00-1:00 Sleep Storm - Be Kind (started as a voice memo)
1:00-2:00 Zach Surp - Ideas (developed around a couple of vocal takes)
2:00-3:00 Anthony And The Mountain - Sugar and Smoke (mixed at home)

*I also play cello, and can write and record arrangements if you're looking for real strings.*

I strive to make moving, exciting and unique records - let me know if you want to work on something together!

Reviews of Zeno Pittarelli

I'd been anticipating working with Zeno for about 2yrs so there was a lot of hype going in. Once I stepped in his studio setting he made me feel at home & even offered me cozy socks. He truly brought a perfect blend of analog instruments and digital sounds to the production & brought my style to life. 1000% satisfied & will be working w/ him again.

I had an excellent experience with Zeno. We were able to get a lot of work done within a small window of time, without feeling rushed or anxious. It was also a very organic experience, which was important to me. Good vibes.

Working with Zeno has been both a pleasure and a privilege. We mixed my album "I Felt Tall And Full Of Blood", and without his engineering skill, taste, and ear, it would not sound half as amazing as the finished project does. He is hardworking, meticulous, and receptive to ideas and criticism. I'm looking forward to our continued collaboration.

Zeno mixed and mastered our songs. We are an Electronic Hip-Hop group and Zeno really made our tracks hit hard. It was exactly what we needed.

I have worked with Zeno as a co-producer on many occasions. He is a brilliant musician, engineer, artist, and a good friend. He is currently co-producing my new album, and has been an integral part of the process.

Zeno Pittarelli is an absolutely fabulous recording engineer/mixer. We worked together on the recording of our band's new album, Crossed in Space. He took out the time to bring our band's vision to life, along with the help of another brilliant engineer and mixer, Seth Nathan. I would love to do more work with Zeno again.

Working with Zeno was easily the most relaxing and rewarding recording experience I've had. He was as meticulous with my songs as he'd be with his own, and always knew when I had a better take in me. His quick mind and strong ear allowed us to complete the project with plenty of time to spare. I truly hope to work with him on future records.
