Founder of Oakland Drum School, passionate session drummer with 20+ years recording drums for top artists.
I offer live drum multi-tracks which I record through 16 channels in my professional music studio in Oakland, CA
I can make the drums sound:

My main goal is to elevate your song and bring it to the next level!
My gear includes:
- Vintage drum sets (70's Rogers, 70's Ludwig, Gretsch)
- Vintage and modern snares (Ludwig, Pearl, Gretsch, Tama, Bell Brass)
- Many cymbals from dark to bright, vintage to modern (Zildjian, Meinl, Bosphorus, Sabian, Paiste)

Great results from eyal as usual. Matched very closely to my midi drums while adding his skill to the mix. Highly suggest for your next project!

Eyal was amazing on the drums once again and was extremely helpful in mixing his ideas in and also replicating drum loop parts I wanted for the song. Did a great job recording and referencing the tonality of what I was looking for.

Here I am week after week writing these reviews about Eyal. And do you know why? Because he’s the best! Our record traverses all sorts of different alt/indie/jam rock styles and we can count on Eyal to nail his parts every time. He can craft something super technical or lock into the rhythm section with ease. Couldn’t be happier with the work this man puts out!

We have been working with Eyal for the last 6 months or so and he never fails to impress. His tight drumming technique and musical sensibilities mean that he will get the job done right every time. Thanks Eyal!

Eyal came through and brought out the big guns on our banging rock anthem. This song hits 100 MPH from the get-go and doesn't let up. Eyal delivered a stellar performance that grooves hard and even introduces some fun rhythmic hooks which have become one of his signatures on many of the songs we've done together! Love this guy. Never stop, not stopping.

Eyal was a pleasure to work with and a true professional. I Got exactly the tone I was looking for and he did a great job drumming and bringing the song to a place I had in my head and then some! Will definitely be working with him again!

Eyal does great work!

Always song-specific joyness and going out of his way to attain that joyness. Joyness is my new word I guess, yay. And when a Musician finds, adds to, and creates more of it, then the Musician is of course the Magician.

Eyal contributed awesome and outstandingly powerful drums to my rock cover. Easy communication and pro skills, what more can you ask for? Be back soon!!

It's a cold winter day and your comforter just came out of the dryer. It's a hot summer day and a cold glass of iced tea appears in your hand. That's what working with Eyal is like. He has an intuitive sense for groove, rhythm and dynamics that slots right into your project with minimal guidance. We've hired him for every song on our record so far and have no plans on stopping. Thanks Eyal!

Eyal Satat. The man can do no wrong! This was probably our 6th song together and he's knocked it out of the park each and every time. We've got the workflow down so well at this point that we don't even need to provide detailed notes anymore, he knows what we're aiming for and executes every time (including our endless requests for percussion :P ). Hire this man immediately for your next project!

Consistently surprisingly interesting and appropriate. Prompt. Patient. Has innate sense of microphone placement (and a wide array of microphones) to create different "rooms" upon request. If you do your homework and find drum examples, Eyal can find those sounds. I enjoy working with Eyal, and you probably will also even if you're all artsy and weird and write lyrics on little scraps of paper all day long and dig through dictionaries and poems late at night. Maybe we all do that. Cheers!

This man can do no wrong. We are hiring him to do our indie rock record and he has been crushing it. Tight grooves, slick fills and so easy to work with. Hire this man immediately.

Eyal is incredible. Highly versatile - adept at most genres and communicates well. He has a strong ear and offers his input on what would sound right with a song. Professional with a quick turn around. Highly recommended!

Always TOP NOTCH, no excuses, always shows up and does the job with attention to detail. I couldn't ask for more. EYAL ALWAYS DELIVERS!!! WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? HIRE HIM!!!
- check_circleVerified
Eyal is probably sick of hearing from us at this point. 😂 Once again, we hired Eyal to play drums on our Foo Fighters-esque alt rock track and, once again, we got some amazing drums back. Have you hired Eyal yet? No? GO! GO NOW!!!

Great session from Eyal on an early demo. Love working with him!

Worked with Eyal for the first time, great guy and a wonderful drummer. He has a very streamlined process and communication was clear. Aside from great technique and feel, his interpretation very much bolstered the musicality of the song. He delivered high quality individual tracks and his own drum mix sounded tasty too. Highly recommend working with him.

Eyal is the man. This is our fifth song working with him and he's been knocking it out of the park every single time. This tune was really challenging as we needed him to help us create drum "loops" in addition to a performance. He handled both masterfully and got us some drum stems in no time at all. Can't wait to do another song soon!

Once again, Eyal has worked his magic on our tunes. This was a groovy, 6 minute jam piece and he absolutely nailed the vibe. Nuff said. If you haven't hired this guy for your next song, what are you even doing? He's the best!

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I really love drum sounds that have a special character, whether it's rock, folk, funk, pop or indie music. I get inspired by the tones and the drum part choices that compliment the song arrangement and enhance the overall sound of the song. Some of the musicians/bands that I feel inspired by are: John Mayer Black Keys Dave Grohl NIN Foo Fighters Soundgraden Nirvana Queens of the Stone age Rage Against The Machine Kaleo Incubus
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: As a session drummer for many years now. I compose and record drum tracks for singer songwriters, bands and producers that are looking for organic live drums. I'm also taking the role of being the studio engineer that makes sure all the drums are tuned, the mics are in place and the sound is top notch before I hit record.

I got myself a vintage 70s Beyerdynamic M160 for Christmas.
This microphone was used to create the sound of "When The Levee Breaks" drum beat.
Though it's not the same but it definitely gave me loads of inspiration! Happy new year everyone! My sample of "When The Levee Breaks"
