Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: Right now, I'm working with Tove Lo and Flume on my next artist project EP for 'googly eyes' and it's been so incredibly fun. Obviously they're stars for a reason, and I'm learning all kinds of things every time we talk. I'm so proud of the music and can't wait for it to come out!

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: I deliver ridiculously good vocals and great songwriting tailored exactly to what your project needs. Whether it's emotional depth, commercial appeal, or something boundary-pushing and unique, I bring professionalism, creativity, and a killer ear to every track. My vocal arrangement skills really set me apart from the rest as well. I don’t just stack harmonies, I craft them to elevate the entire song. Whether it’s intricate layers, lush textures, or powerful gang vocals, I know how to make a track feel full, dynamic, and emotionally impactful. Every harmony, ad-lib, and background part is intentional and designed to serve the song in the best way possible.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I think the flexibility of this is so beautiful. I love circulating from my songwriting career to my artist career to my freelance career - I never ever get bored! And I love bringing a song to life—finding the perfect melodies, nailing the emotion, and making something that feels real and unforgettable. There’s nothing better than delivering a vocal or lyric that makes a client, artist, producer, or label go, That’s the one.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: "Can you match a specific artist’s vocal style?" Absolutely. I have a versatile voice and can tailor my tone, delivery, and emotion to match the style you're aiming for. "Can you write in [insert genre]?" Yes! I have experience across pop, Kpop, classical, dance, R&B, alternative, and cinematic music. I adapt to the sound and energy you need. "How fast is your turnaround?" Typically 5-7 days for vocals and less than 2 weeks for a written song. But if you need it sooner, let’s talk—I can often accommodate rush projects.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I like to get clear on the vision from the start, so I ask: What vibe/emotion are you going for? Any reference artists or songs? Do you have specific melody or lyric ideas, or are you looking for full creative input? What’s your ideal turnaround time?

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Good vocalists and songwriters are worth every penny - very few things can make a song go from good to fantastic like the perfect vocalist can! Don't be shy to ask questions and don't be afraid to invest in your music. And beyond that, know what you want—but also be open to collaborating and trusting the process. A great topliner or vocalist doesn’t just execute an idea; they enhance it. Clear communication is key—the more I understand your vision, the better I can deliver exactly what you need. :)

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I've been doing this for about 10 years now! I went to college for opera + contemporary music, so I'm a classically and commercially trained vocalist. Right out of college, I signed my first publishing deal with hit-songwriter Emily Warren and Prescription Songs. While writing out in Los Angeles, I was also building my artist project's Deza + 'googly eyes'. Goog caught the eye of the ridiculously talented Tove Lo and Flume, and now I'm signed to Tove as an artist and working with the two of them on my next project. In the meantime, I really enjoy bringing other people's projects to life and getting to create a sustainable future for myself here from Soundbetter!
