Let's shoot for quality. I have been a production professional for the last eight years, producing, arranging, mixing, and vocal editing for numerous corporate and indie clients (Universal, Sony, Capitol Records, BMI New York). The future is now and although AI can create a beat or edit things to a grid, it can't replicate taste.
Stefan Accardo graduated from NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in 2018 and has since been working with numerous artists such as Stela Cole, The Aces, Alex Winston, and executive producing Rebel One’s Baker Grace. Garnering attention from the likes of manager Tiffany Almy and veteran consultant Jeff Rabhan, Stefan has also executed continuous demo and synch work under the likes of Sony/ATV, Capitol, NYU, and Kobalt within the past year alone. Working closely alongside New York's writer circuit with the help of BMI NYC, he has established himself as a young producer to watch.

Interview with Stefan Accardo Recording
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Baker Grace - Yourz Truly. I worked on this entire record with her and it is something that we had carte blanche over since day one.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Starting a small inclusive digital label to properly distribute and amplify new talent from around the world.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital all the way. Is that even a question?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Some things you just can't fix.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What their recording process was, what equipment was used, and what is their ultimate goal.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: You are hiring me for my taste and not for how surgical an approach can be. Music is not perfect and neither is life. They are accurate imitations of each other. What a beautiful thing.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Shure SM7B, Macbook Pro, Apollo x4, Beyerdynamics DT1990s
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Left of center pop with dramatic peaks and valleys primarily categorized as statement bangers.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: American pop music and all of its sub-genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: An experienced ear and taste garnered over the last eight years of being an audio professional.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I evaluate everything before I decide to accept a job. This clarifies two things: my ability to enhance it and price point for services provided. Costumer communication: establishing either a ClickUp board or a Slack channel to effectively communicate with a customer during a project.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My setup consists of: MBP 1TB SSD 32GB Ram 2.4Hz UA Apollo x4 Shure SM7B with Cloudlifter Townsend Labs Sphere L22 Ableton Push 2 Clarity M Meter Slate Media Technologies Raven MTi2 DAWs: Pro Tools 2020 Logic Pro X 15.5 Ableton Live 10 Suite Celemony Melodyne 5 Studio Synchro Arts Revoice Pro 4 iZotope RX 7 Wide array of plugins from iZotope, FabFilter, Mega bundle from Plugin Alliance, Waves, GoodHertz. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Currently, Louis Bell and Mark Ronson inspire me the most mainly because of the brands that they have built. They cultivate artists and recognize how to amplify talent.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I work primarily as a music producer and songwriter for indie and major label clients in addition to sync work for Position Music and Milk & Honey Silo. Being a producer, my services embody all facets of writing, arranging, vocal production, vocal editing, and mixing.
