One of the best engineers I’ve ever worked with! Very professional from his quality to the manner in which he conducted his business. Best turnaround time I’ve had working with any engineer. Takes great instructions from mixing instructions also. He’s a student of the game and always finds a new ways to continue to stay updated on getting the best industry quality from his mixes. You can not go wrong working with Bao Pham. The music that has performed the best came as a result of working with Bao. If you want clarity and full sounding music I seriously recommend working with him.
Bao is humble and great at what he do. He recently just mixed and mastered a song that i have with Lil Boosie and it’s perfect I can’t wait to see what it do
I began my journey with music in 2018. I was told about Bao from a friend who was currently working with him. I was very new to everything and he was the first sound engineer to mix my music so when I first heard my song mastered, I thought God may touched it no lie😂 Bao is the main reason I feel like I have a chance to make quality music for people to hear. From him working with top tier to local artist, I can tell he treats everyone respectfully without even meeting him in person so that says a lot about his character. He never stops getting better at his craft and has a true Ear for music.
Professional sound quality & great business man!
Bao Pham was the first professional sound engineer that I ever used. I never used anyone else after him. The quality of sound that he provides alongside the reasonable pricing and prompt return on product is unmatched! I would recommend him to anyone and everyone no matter what sound or genre of music. Unlike most engineers, Bao takes the time to really learn his customers and what sound they want. He is easy to work with and will make sure you are satisfied with the finished product. Hands down the best. 5 stars.

Bao is the most professional engineer I’ve worked with. He works with the best in the music industry (Like Dave Pensado & Timbaland) and devotes his time, energy & money to improving his skills and your sound! He pays attention to detail, respects his clients both indie & mainstream, has great communication with clients to understand their expectations of the record and has excellent turn-around times to get your projects done in a timely manner. He is a key part of my team and working with him Elevated my sound & business! Thank YOu for everything & continue to “Turn Me Up Bao”
I’ve never ran into anyone else with his speed and his willingness to create perfectness, a word many of us know isn’t really possible, but he gets it done. And it’s hard to find someone who can cater to a singer’s voice. I haven’t worked with anyone else since. He gets everything just right and before I even say things out loud, he’s already done it. It’s unheard of! If I could give him a 10 out of 10 stars, I would.
One of the most down to earth professional people ever. It’s amazing to see someone that’s already established still treat everything like they are still grinding. If you are looking for industry sound there’s no where else to look. Great things come from Bao Pham!
Seriously one of the best to ever do it. I met Bao in 2008 and I have not looked back since. Super detailed and always growing in the craft. Amazing to see the growth over the year

So if your looking for quality without comprise, look no further, Bao Pham is the man for you. God Bless and Jesus luvs u all! Jorge Robles Founder Profetica Muzic
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Bao Pham from 2009 to the present on various projects. He’s always exhibited optimal professionalism and his mixes always sound top notch. He also adds drops and fills in songs when requested to do so. He does more than tweaking the sonic character of the tone, he also helps produce it by adding the Suttle nuances to it. I’ve learned a lot from Bao over the years and honestly, he’s helped me become a great producer as well just by listening and applying some of his Suttle techniques into other artists that I work with.
Bao Pham is an excellent engineer who is easy to work with, who has an amazing ear for sound, and is affordable.
I would recommend Bao to any artist who is looking for mixing and mastering. He takes songs to another level with the best high quality techniques.

Interview with Bao Pham
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My niche is Hip-Hop and R&B, and all of its sub-genres: Trap, Rap, Alternative/Conscious Rap, Boom-Bap, Melodic Rap, Gangster Rap. Contemporary R&B, Neo-Soul, Funk, and Soul.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Jaycen Joshua, Dave Pensado, Timbaland, Pharrell, Just Blaze, DJ Premier, Quincy Jones, Murda Beatz, !llmind, and so many others. The list could go on and on. I love trap music all the way to very musically creative productions, so there's not one that stands out, all have their place in music in general.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have 2 studios, one in the Montgomery, AL, USA while I am stateside, and one in Shanghai, China where I currently reside. I have GIK acoustics/SoundBox/Auralex brands for room treatment, C24, Avalon Vt737sp, Yamaha NS-10s, KRK s10 Subwoofers, Adam T7Vs, Alesis M1Actives, Neumann TLM49, Presonus Monitor Station V2, Grace Design m900, Senheisser HD650s, Mac Pro mid2010 Sierra OS, MacBook Pro Mid-2014 Sierra OS, ProTools 2019.6 with HEAT, mostly all current plug-ins. Buying new pieces of gear such as the Antelope Audio OCX HD, Dynaudio LYD 48s, MiniDSP DDRC-88A, and more plug-ins within the next few months.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on the song. Most times I start with the instrumental trackouts and work my way to the vocals, and sometimes I start with the vocals and build the sounds and drums around them. I do what's best for the feel of the song and the artist's vision for it, and also most hire me for my taste, so producing/arrangement is done in some cases.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Loudness, Width, Depth, Emotional content, and Clarity to a song all while retaining transients in the modern era of music mixing/mastering.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Producing while mixing. It's the last line of defense, and I am mainly the last person that touches a record before it goes out to the world. I am at my best at giving the song the emotional content needed to invoke the best feeling of the song, all the while being technically advanced in bringing the most current techniques to the modern era of music.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop and R&B, and all of its sub-genres: Trap, Rap, Alternative/Conscious Rap, Boom-Bap, Melodic Rap, Gangster Rap. Contemporary R&B, Neo-Soul, Funk, and Soul.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Soft-Clipping and saturation/harmonics to bring loudness and character to a mix is one of the most important things to consider when mixing.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Kanye West. His mental capacity may seem insane, but usually geniuses are not normal.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Similar to Jaycen Joshua/Mike Dean in mixing/producing.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I produced on a platinum album, T.I. vs T.I.P that featured Jay-Z on my record in 2007. Since before then up until now I have been either recording/mixing/mastering and/or producing. I began in 1999 and started professionally in 2005.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MacBook Pro Sierra OS with ProTools 2019.6 and HEAT and all plug-ins, Grace Design m900, HD650s, Logitech MX Vertical, Wifi Router
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be prepared, organized, and have basic knowledge of ProTools/other DAWs, be courteous, respectful, and patient, and ready to do business when contacting me. Us mixing/mastering engineers that have work with many clients spend many hours in the studio and take a serious amount of volume to our ears everyday.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have a concept of an album? What particular sound are you looking for? Can you provide examples of artists you want similar things done to your project? Do you have trackouts to your beats? Did you record in ProTools/other DAWs? Can you provide a rough mix with the session files? What is your deadline? What is your budget?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it is quick and easy to mix and master a song. Sometimes it's quick, but that is after years of practice and repetition. I expect to be paid for the years of expertise into a mix that would take me sometimes 1-2 hours to mix/master, not for the time I spend on a mix.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How much do I charge is what I mainly get all of the time. My answer is: I would have to look at the Protools sessions/files to estimate cost, but usually starting at ____ and up per song...just depends on quality of vocals, trackouts, etc. A good balance of EQ, Compression, panning, vocal tuning, harmonics, stereo width, reverb, delay and then I master as well focusing on dynamic mastering suited for streaming in the digital age.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Finish a record that can compete with industry-level engineering/producing in the modern era of music. Carving out EQ, compressing and adding saturation/harmonics/parallel compression to achieve an awesome sounding record. Producing a record is like making a baby, and the love for making music never ever dies.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My turn-around times are some of the best in the business, along with sonic clarity and loudness, and always reinvesting their hard-earned money into my craft to better myself everyday. It's a constant learning process everyday. My promise is to stay current and up-to-date and provide good business practice and have a great reputation in doing so.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Nothing can beat the sound of analog, but digital is coming close, if not already there to being as good as analog or better than digital. Why digital being better? The session recall on digital sessions cannot be duplicated with analog without writing down every single detail to be reset for the next day, or leaving the studio with all of the faders up to return the next day and continue working on the mix. Digital is becoming more advanced with plug-ins, is faster than analog, and with today's era of music, speed and quality are becoming or already have become the norm.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Matty Harris of mixandmastermysong.com recommended me to the site, and a fellow Mix With The Masters alumni that attended the Jaycen Joshua/Dave Pensado/Timbaland seminar in France with me.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently working on alot of Hip-Hop/R&B records. Business has been pretty good and managing clients can be a serious task, but one of my forte's is communication with clients and their expectations of the record and turn-around times to get their projects done in a timely manner.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Upcoming Alabama artist Clever. Mixing his joint project with No Cap, and starting to mix his solo records. He is a phenomenal singer from my home state, with a good blend of dynamic vocals set alongside southern 808s and trap type drum programming. A unique combination not really heard of until now.
