Your Drum machines aren't cutting it and you need some real drum recordings as soon as possible? Recording Drums can be a complex, expensive and time consuming process. I offer live drums recorded on demand, at a reasonable price and fast.
Hi, my name is Joern Schwarzburger and I'm a Studio and Live Drummer with years of professional drumming experience.
I've had the opportunity to tour and record with amazing artists including Cher, Caro Emerald, Carl Carlton, JR Blackmore, empty trash, Idle Warship and Vanilla Ninja, as well as many up and coming new artists from across the globe!
In 2006 I decided to set up an online drum & percussion recording service to deliver high quality drum tracks across the globe and to eliminate financial and time wise limitations while recording an acoustic Drum Set.
Musicians, bands and producers send me their songs, I track drums at my studio, sending mp3 bounces of my progress to work out the perfect drum track and when the track is finished I send WAV files to import into your session.
Instead of hiring studios, engineers or drummers my drum recording service is quick, easy and most importantly it’s affordable.
Services Include:
remote drum sessions
drum programming
drum editing
recording sessions with external drummers at my studio
mixing
...and you can also hire me for live work on tours and gigs worldwide.
Please check out my page ww.drumdubs.de with in depth details, Audio & Video samples and a multitrack demo download to test my tracks in your DAW.
I hope my drumming will take your songs to the next level whilst saving you time, hassle & money.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Endorse Joern SchwarzburgerI.am a producer from Berlin. Joern is THE drummer of my choice for my studio and live projects. He grooves like hell, somewhere between John Bonham and Phil Rudd. Amazing!
I know Jörn a few years now and we were together on stage many times. It's always a great experience working with him for he is both an incredible versatile drummer live and in the studio. He is so easy to work with and really dedicates himself to the project. And since we're a Rockband I really have to say Jörn is one of the best drummers I know in the genre, really hitting it hard with his dynamic and powerful play! You couldn't ask for more.

Jörn is an excellent drummer! He added a ton of life to our music...
Plus he is super dependable and goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect - in the studio or live! I don't know what we would have done without him this past summer...Jörn.... I can not express enough gratitude for this man's work. He is not only an amazing drummer but more importantly, he brings with him an arsenal of knowledge, and experience. Furthermore, he has an impeccable attitude and gives 100% of himself to the project. I could not have asked for a better drummer in the studio, on tour, and as a friend. I would highly recommend him for any professional recording or live event. Jörn you absolute ROCK!
Cheers,
Rob Bowman

Interview with Joern Schwarzburger
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: 1. Get in Touch: To get started, clients get in touch with details of their project. I’ll give them an exact quote for their track/s and we discuss all details about what sound and feel is wanted and what types of drum sounds is needed. 2. Recording: After all things are set and a ruff Mix/ demo or Stems are uploaded, I’ll go to my Studio, set up the Gear the client and I selected for the Song and record the Drum/ Percussion Tracks. 3. Approval: Once I’ve recorded the drum / percussion tracks, I’ll send an Mp3 mix of the track with the drums mixed in. At this point I can make any changes until the client is satisfied with the Drumtrack and I´ll offer up to three free revisions with the inital price, depending on the Setup that was chosen. 4. Download: Once payment is received, I’ll send a link to download the high-quality drum files. From here you can drop the wav. files into your session for mixing or send them out to be mixed by another engineer!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: After a heavy touring schedule throughout the last 10 months, I´m pretty busy in the studio right now. After performing and touring, it´s really great to be creative again…inventing parts, creating sounds and helping artists to bring their vision to life…I’m really enjoying it!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! I love the sound of analogue outboard gear and adore tracking drums on an old tape machine - but also enjoy the flexibility and ease of digital processing and editing.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Beeing creative, working with inspiring people and making a living out of something that I love so much.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What feel & vibe are you looking for? Do you want me to play simple or busy? Do you have a reference song that may help? What micing setup suits you production?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don´t be skeptical about this new way of recording! It`s pretty simple and the process is easy and enjoyable for you.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: It all started for me with banging on pots and boxes and thus receives the famous „Walt Disney“ Drumset at the age of 5. Within the next years I bashed the hell out of his tiny Kit justifying the need for lessons at the age of 10, followed by a long phase of self taught learning and playing to records. After various gigs with local bands and studio-experiences I got my first professional job at the age of 17, followed by studies and short term programs at the Drummers Institute (Germany) and the Drummers Collective NYC. In 2004 after just turning 20 I decided to relocate from Cologne to Hamburg. I spent my first years in Hamburg studying at the Conservatory of Hamburg, playing many shows and tours with a variety of different bands all over Germany and founded my Studio „ drumdubs drumrecording“. Today I have played with a variety of national and international Artists, toured europe several times, played in front of 1.000.000 people at the Brandenburger Tor in Berlin and have recorded a lot of different Albums and Filmscores.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm heavily influenced by Dave Grohl, Brad Wilk, John Bonham, Steve Jordan, Questlove, Josh Freese, Chad Smith and Abe Cunningham, so my style would be tight, groove & song orientated, creative and sometimes pretty heavy. I focus primarily on feel, groove and energy to create drum tracks that are supportive and hit hard or chill out at just the right moment and a Groove that will take every song to the next level.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mainly on Rock, Pop, Alternative, Electronic and all kinds of groove orientated music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Groove, feel, consistency and pretty strong working attitude.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Tight and exciting live drums and percussion that enhances the songwriters vision.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Basically my studio is a big room with over 60 square meters which is tuned and well treated. It is a super comfortable and vibey environment and a great place to create music. My recording Setup consists of RME interfaces, a large variety of preamps from Audient/ TLAudio/ RME/ Focusrite/ Presonus/ ART connected to industry standard microphones from Sennheiser/ Shure/ Rode/ AKG/ Heil and Studio Projects to capture my performance. To find the right sound for every session I pick from a huge and great sounding selection of drum kits and snare drums, mountains of beautiful Paiste Cymbals and a wide variety of percussion and electronic drums to find the perfect sound that fits and support the artists vision. Feel free to check out the page of my studio www.drumdubs.de for further information and a closer look!

A: Dave Grohl, Josh Fresse, Questlove, Steve Jordan, Jojo Mayer, Chad Smith, Foo Fighters, rage against the machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, tool, Queens of the Stoneage, Jimi Hendrix, NIN , tool, stone temple pilots, Led Zeppelin, John Mayer, Soundgarden, Deftones, the Police, Nirvana, Deep Purple, the Prodigy and so many more…
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
