Phil is a highly experienced electric bass player with over 30 years gigging and recording experience.
Having started out on piano at a very early age, Phil soon discovered a true passion in bass playing.
By the age of 17, Phil was gigging and recording both in the UK and Europe with bands like Boulevard, Burnie and The Angels, AXS and others.
"The best education I ever had was dep-ing in a covers band in Europe. With a set list of some 20+ songs and only 24 hours to learn them, the pressure was on, but I loved every minute of it. I learned a huge amount about playing different styles in a very short space of time. As a result, what I listen to and play is extremely varied", says Phil.
Phil plays electric and fretless electrics, uses finger, pick and pop/slap/funk styles. And even a bit of two handed tapping if it's needed ... which is rare :-)
Phil's lost count of the number of live shows he's done but it must be in the 1000s by now and is still gigging regularly.
His studio experience started very early at he age of 17 was recording at legendary studios like Loco in Wales, Roundhouse in Camden, London and others.
Phil plays EPS, Charvel and Fender bases, Ashdown amps and has his own home studio built around Presonus products.
