I am a sound engineer based in Cape Town, South Africa. I run a music production company called Metalloid Lab Productions.
I can handle the audio mixing and mastering for your music, podcast or any online content. I specialise in mixing and mastering of hip hop and urban music but have also done work for artists that make other styles of music including: folk music, gospel, rock and pop.
I have worked with some of South Africa's most prolific hip hop artists including YoungstaCPT, Jitsvinger, DJ Ready D, Claire Phillips, Def Eff and Emile YX.

The projects that I've worked range from mixing and mastering for music, podcasts to final mixes for video and broadcast media.

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: A combination of both, I don't believe one or the other is better. What ever is needed and available at the time in order to do the job.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I will always make sure that you leave happy!

  6. A: I love getting to hear awesome new music and connect with people.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: sampler, field recorder, laptop, bass guitar

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: EQ is your best friend!

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: Hip Hop, R&B, Soul music

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: My ability to focus on the strong points of the song and allowing that to shine through. Instead of over complicating a mix with too much processing, I rely on subtle adjustments to help the mix shine.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: The most common tasks I handle as a sound engineer is mixing and mastering of music. I also handle a fair amount of music production work, anything from beats for rappers / singers to music for content creators.
