I am a Mix Engineer based out of Nashville. I have worked at one of the busiest commercial studios in town since 2014 where I have worked with artist such as Kacey Musgraves, Allen Stone and many more. I have experience mixing a wide range of genres and enjoy adding exciting elements to a track while still focusing on what makes the song great.
I offer mixing, editing, comping and vocal tuning. I have experience editing and comping and enjoy making the song feel the best it can without making it feel like a robotic performance. I can mix many different types of music, from indie rock projects, to stripped down singer/songwriter. I enjoy making everyones projects sound like anything you would hear on the radio.

Interview with Zack Pancoast
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always like to get references for the style of mix they are going for. It is much easier to reach the end goal that they are looking for if they have examples of hit records that they want to sound like.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Know what you're looking for in a mix. It can be tough for a mixer if they are just throwing ideas out there that the client already knows he won't like, so having a reference or starting point can help the process go smoother
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: ProAcs, M160, Tape Delay, CAPI VP28, SM7
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Beck, his music is ever changing but always exciting and it would be fun to be able to experiment in a creative environment with someone like that.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The song is the most important part.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I tend to work on Indie Rock/Alternative and Singer/Songwriter while also working on some country due to working out of Nashville.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I track most everything out of Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville TN. I have a mix setup in a room at home which runs on an iMac with a UAD Apollo. I use ProAc Studio 100 with a Bryston 4B for my monitoring. I have several outboard FXs and compressors that I integrate into an "in the box" work flow.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Dave Fridmann, Shawn Everett, Blake Mills, Tony Berg.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Tracking and Mixing tracks, as well as giving production opinions when needed.
