Interview with LoSweet Records
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Look for an experienced team that understands you as a person and as an artist. Music is your own emotional channel and bringing good influence on board is very important.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop with recording program Interphase Mic Guitar Headphones
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: We have been in the music industry for more than 10 years. In 2014 we completed our studies at Berklee College of Music where we gained knowledge and experience on songwriting, music production & engineering, electronic production & design, performing, musician, music business, etc. We currently work in many aspects of the industry ranging from songwriting, production, performance, touring, concert promotion and jingle writing among others. Within these different aspects of the music industry we have been involved with such artists as Seu Jorge, Fito Paez, Jarabe De Palo, Julieta Venegas, Stone Giant, Jimmy Page booking into the Berklee Commencement Ceremony 2014, and as musicians have performed at such opportunities as Lollapalooza Argentina and Chile, Festival BUE, CMJ Marathon, among many others sharing festivals with great bands as Gorillaz, Eminem, Noel Gallagher, Skrillex, Tame Impala, etc. We have produced music for advertising to such companies as McDonalds, Coca-Cola, TED Talks, Wendy’s, Ford, Mazda, among others, and have pitched songs to such record labels as Universal Music Group.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: We are very understandable and easy going yet keeping it professional and actively giving projects our best.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: A songwriter and producers ultimate experience would be to work on a production with Paul McCartney and witness all his knowledge of all aspects of a recording. Sir Paul McCartney is very song drive and thats exactly what we aim to focus on.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Record live musicians. Mic amps for recordings for a more crispy real sound on guitars, bass, keys, etc. Pan guitars and explore panning in general to generate space in the sound.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: We work with all genres and always strive to expand. Our main experiences have been with rock, pop, funk, blues, electronic, reggaeton, classical, jazz and so on.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Professionalism, experienced, resourceful, and knowledgable.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: The song is our number one priority and we bring all of our knowledge about song forms, harmony, melodies, lyrics, rhymes, production, arranging, etc. that makes a song meaningful. A powerful chorus is the perfect start to knowing you are on the right path.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: All projects are different and for us its all about finding the perfect song before doing any official recording and production. Processes may vary depending if the artist needs songwriting and production or only production of an existing song. Once we have agreed on a specific song form, melodies, lyrics, and so on, we move into production and decide which musicians and instruments to record and with what recording methods. After all recordings are done we focus on polishing the perfect arrangement with the tracks we have. For our finals steps we get deep into the mix and master to give the last touches before any official release and completion of the project upon clients approval.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We have our in-house studio GroovyLand Music or we can coordinate other studio rentals to produce at. In-house studio in Aventura FL: - Guitar amps (Orange, VOX, Fender, etc.) -Keyboard and Piano -Bass amps -Bass Guitars -Electric Guitars -Acoustic Guitars -Full Microphone Gear for recordings -Pro Tools -Sound proof rooms -Control Room -Lounge Room -Recording Room -Garden Lounge -more
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some producers we admire are Rick Rubin, Jimmy Page, George Martin, Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, Pharell, George Clinton, David Foster, among many great producers.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Music production, songwriting, and recording. We provide full production services depending on the project needs including studio time, session musicians, recording engineers, mixing, mastering, editing, arranging, consulting, lyric and music composition, legal advice, and all processes needed for a project to be released to the public.
