Interview with MRH

  1. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  2. A: I do full productions, mixing and mastering. My specialty is pop music although I have worked with major EDM artists as well as RNB and Hip-Hop.

  3. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: I have a studio in West Hollywood, California that has everything necessary for recording. I use Ableton Live 10 and record live guitars, pianos and vocals.

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: I create music specific to every artist I work with. I enjoy consulting with artists to figure out what inspires them so we can create a unique sound to them. The song is the most important part of the recording. So once we are happy with the songwriting I create a full production around the vocals and then tweak according to the artists notes/tastes.

  9. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  10. A: I bring innovation. I enjoy taking what's in the mainstream and putting a twist on it. My goal is to make every production unique and polished.

  15. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  16. A: The best piece of advice I've ever been given is to feel every element that's included. If it makes your hairs stand on edge, it belongs in the song. If it doesn't, find something new.

  17. Q: How would you describe your style?

  18. A: My style for production is energetic. Everything I create I try to give a certain energy that draws the listener in.

  19. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  22. A: Come in with an idea, and let's work to make it the best we possibly can.
