Producer & Mix Engineer for psychedelic garage rock and roll bands.
I have mixed records for major label and independent artists such The Cambodian Space Project, The Kundalini Genie, Black Heart Death Cult, Frankie Teardrop Dead, Acid Rooster, Alien Mustangs and Charlie Clark.
As guitarist for The Cambodian Space Project, I was fortunate to tour the world and got my big break mixing the "Spaced Out in Wonderland" record which was released on ABC Records and distributed via Universal Music. The album was received to critical acclaim and featured regularly on Iggy Pop's playlist for his BBC Radio 6 "Iggy Confidential" show.
I have since gone on to produce and mix records for bands across the world with records released on labels such as Its Creation Baby!, Little Cloud Records, Fuzz Club and Cardinal Fuzz. I have co-produced or mixed records working alongside industry legends such as Ricky Maymi (Brian Jonestown Massacre), Mark Gardener (RIDE) and Jim Diamond (The Sonics, White Stripes)
My passion is in working with experimental music.... psychedelic, garage, shoegaze, 60's fuzz...call it what you want but dirty guitar driven rock n roll is the heart of everything I love.
I am currently based in Scotland working at Fuzzface Studio just outside Glasgow.

Jason is awesome to work with! Was really upbeat and positive right from the start and all the way through to the end. Took the time to understand what I wanted and delivered! He mixed 8 songs for me inspired by 60s/psychedelia/garage & surf rock and he really captured the vibe and color and got the most out of each song whilst making sure everything worked as an album. Just nailed it! Always kept in touch and always happy to talk through ideas, pleasure to work with. Guys a mixing wizard!
I have been friends with Jason for a few years now and cant thank him enough for the work
he did on my first album Beyond the illusion .
He is a fantastic producer and musician who has a deep understanding of psychedelic music ,who also has the right approach and attitude to make things happen for artists that are in need of music production .We worked with Jason on our debut studio album. As a band we were concerned that we would not be able to get our live energy across in a record but Jason managed that and more. A hard worker with great ideas and a great ear plus his super friendly approach makes working with him real easy. Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. His positive attitude & wealth of knowledge all added to a great experience. Jason has every thing that a band or artist wants in an engineer. Highly recommend and looking forward to working with him again in the future!

Frankie Teardrop deadI've been lucky enough to make a lot of music together with Jason over the years. His passion for creating and manipulating sound is infectious and now his skills match his enthusiasm.
He experimented on one of my (thehoodedclaw) tracks while he was honing his craft and the results were night and day compared to the original. He's only got better since!
Jason is a talented musician and understands what it takes to give each instrument value in a mix. I highly recommend working with him. From his keen ear to his relentless hard work, Jason is one of the few sound engineers to ease every aspect of the recording process.
Fantastic wealth of knowledge and know how, guiding bands to directions they would never explore without his unique influence.
Myself and The Black Cat Revue couldn’t have asked for more from our process with Jason and we will continue to use his insight and friendship to further our band.
A true gentlemen and music scholar in the best ways possible.
The highest quality of work, from the quality human being.Jason has a great ear for mixing Rock 'n' Roll, he mixed a very raw noisy instrumental for my band Parading and the whole band was stoked on the results. He gives all the instruments breathing space whilst creating a unity turning the track into a wall of sound. Importantly his passion for music comes through when communicating, truly a guy into it for the right reasons for the good of the music and the listener!
Jason Shaw recently worked on a remix for my band The Vera Violets. I was very happy with how each track in the mix had so much definition. The guitar tracks sounded much more focused, the drum and bass tracks had more presence and the vocal track was more audible. It was a pleasure and an honor to work with Jason. He was very professional with his communication through the course of the project. I look forward to working with him again in the future. I highly recommend him !
I currently can't think of anyone I'd prefer to have mix my material more than Jason whether it's a home recording or an expensive studio record.
I've worked with Jason both in the studio and working together through messaging back and forth and in both environments he's so easy to work with, professional, creative, and fun!
Quickly adapting to new ideas, Jason works harder than most engineers by far, fancy equipment and big names mean nothing if they don't have the attitude Jason does. He works on a track until you're happy with it and I'm VERY picky. I'd say more but I've run out ofI have worked with Jason both in a live and studio environment (Cambodian Space Project & Bokor Magic Mountain Band) on all occasions he has been a joy to work with. Having recorded tracks in UK and having him mix them in Cambodia was a first for me but the results were great. He always keeps you in the loop and sends cuts at various stages of production so you are still involved.
Most important is that Jason has a deep passion and understanding of music
