Hi. I am a multi-instrumentalist producer, artist, and songwriter with over 15 years of music experience. I live in Nashville and I'm aspiring to be one of the best in the business. I have a ton of production experience and I'd love to work on your next project! :)
I started making music as a young teenager playing guitar and singing at church, and then it quickly evolved into a deep passion that I've been pursuing ever since. When I was 23 I recorded my first full project with an artist by the name of Caroline Glaser. She was previously on NBC's The Voice Season 4. We did a full album and she and I were both super proud of the result. She now has about 5 million streams on Spotify with that album. Since then I've recorded countless demo's for a variety of artists and a ton of tracks for a particular up-and-coming Country Pop artist Erin Kinsey. (We've done over 100 tracks together)
Lately I've been producing for an artist named Dela Kay. She is a rising pop star with amazing songs and a really great voice. She's on Spotify as well. I produced her song "Deep Love" and I'm currently producing some of her new material that isn't released yet ;)
I've also been a singer for most of my life. Last year I had the pleasure of being on NBC's The Voice season 13 Team Adam. It was an incredible experience and helped me grow even more. I'm currently pursuing my artist project under "Michael Kight" and I am producing all of my music.
So far every person I have worked with has been super pleased with the results. I am confident I can help you take your music to another level and give you the vibe you've been looking for!

Interview with Michael Kight
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What artist would you say you sound like? What is your live show like?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I love working with people and I will do my best to give you what you are looking for. Just reach out :)
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A guitar, an analog synth, a drum machine, a great microphone, and some great speakers.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been singing since I was very young (4 or 5), and playing instruments since I was a young teenager. I got into recording when I got my first 8 track recorder at 15. Ever since I've loved it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: It's a mix of soul, r&b, blues and commercial pop.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Adam Levine. It would be funny to work with him after being on his team on the voice. Full circle.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Most of the time simplicity wins the game.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly pop. Or indie music with a commercial feel.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I have a very strong ear for cool melodies and melodic parts.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think what makes me unique as a producer is that I'm a singer and an artist also. I can think from a musician perspective, but also a singer/artist perspective. This makes it a smooth process cause I almost always understand what the artist wants.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I normally start with the essential groove or whatever the main instrument might be. If it's a piano driven song I'll start with the keys, if it's guitar driven I'll start with the guitar, etc.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record and produce with Logic Pro X. I record everything through my Universal Audio Apollo Twin Duo interface. I use JBL MKII 8in Monitors. I use an Akai Professional MPK 249 to perform all my piano, synth, and production midi parts. I use a bluebird large diaphram microphone for vocals and acoustic instruments. I play my custom Warrior electric guitar through a full pedal board of amazing pedals. My room is treated with a London Room Kit.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I've always been a fan of John Mayer's guitar playing. Ryan Tedder is a great producer and someone I look up to. Also Pharrell is a great inspiration!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Music Production. Creating the music based on their style and the direction they give me as an artist. I play a variety of instruments and I'm great at layering sounds and ideas.
