Joshua Blair

Guitarist, Remote Mix & Master

Joshua Blair on SoundBetter

Guitarist for 16 years and counting. When composing, I love mixing contradictory styles of music together, with a slight emphasis on incorporating heavy guitars where they normally don't belong. I've been mixing and mastering my own music for about a year or so and I am ready to take this art to the next level.

The primary reason I play instruments is to create new music. I understand music theory at a very deep level. I love blending diatonic (major/minor) melodies with chromatic chord progressions. I also love to employ techniques like constant quality (or constant structure) when writing progressions, but only when appropriate. I really enjoy writing a melody, and then arranging a counter-melody with it. I love programming drums I love mixing odd timings with 4/4 and 3/4. I also love exploring odd subdivisions of a beat, like 5 or 7 divisions to create unique grooves. So, if you are looking for electric, acoustic, bass guitar, or acoustic/electronic drum programming to add to your music, I'd love to contribute! I have degrees in physics and engineering so my attention to detail is very adept. This is valuable when it comes to mixing and mastering. If you hire me to mix your music, I will not stop until you are satisfied, no matter how long it takes. I will work fast, efficiently, and send updates frequently. I will constantly make adjustments based on your feedback to produce the best possible sounds within my ability. If you are still unsatisfied, we can cancel the job, you pay nothing, and that'll be it. The song I've included here was composed, recorded, mixed, and mastered by me. Please note it was to my taste only. I can adapt my techniques to suit your needs.

Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.
