Working with Carl was a great experience. He helped me produce the score to my passion project and additionally edited dialogue as well. Carl took the time to listen to constructive feedback and execute changes right away. I would recommend Carl for any kind of post audio engineering work.

Working on my feature film, our original sound editor and designer bailed. Carl was able to come in and work the project from scratch. Thank you Carl for finishing this film, as I thought it would never happen with the previous post sound person.

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: An album for my friend and hip hop artist from Athens,GA named TyB. It's called The Winter Tape 2020! A collection of songs he recorded back in college where we met in San Francisco. I mixed and mastered the final recordings with the beats myself. I'm so proud and happy I put out my first project. I cultivated a sound with and even created the album artwork to go with some of the song releases also!

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Just finished up mixing and mastering an album for my friend and hip hop artists from Athens,GA named TyB Now I'm working on personal production projects and continuing to network and work on any project I can get!

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: It just depends on me really! Whether I'm working on a song or an album for an independent artist or working on post sound for a film or short. I usually start off with a custom template for recording and mixing for every project then go from there!

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: My studio set up right now consists of : Macbook Pro HD Dell monitor screens HD M-Audio speakers 5 inch Scarlett Focusrite interface USB Additional USB hub for drives Pro Tools 12 HD Adobe Premiere Pro Adobe Audition VideoSlave Audiomovers/TeamViewer remote Pro Tools virtual SourceConnect FL Studio 20 AKG K240 MKII Headphones Sennheiser HD 559 headphones

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: The strong passion i have for audio engineering stems from being a kid growing up in the bay area and learning about music and entertainment and discovering it around my house and neighborhood, listening to sounds of nature, listening to music of all kinds, watching all types of movies and TV shows and being drawn into that at a very young age. I was very observant and curious about stuff i read or listen to and I would read liner notes and the back of an album cover or CD or cassette tape and wonder who are these names or individuals being credited as Composer, musician, engineer, producer, writer, etc. on these songs i am listening to and movies Im watching all time lol! So I was very inspired by those professional industry people whose names I used to see, like Leon Ware, Verdine White from EWF, Michael Jackson, R. Kelly, Quincy Jones, Bruce Swedien, They inspired me to follow my passion for what I'm doing today as a professional audio engineer. As for present day, those same people I just named still inspire me along with some of the artists and musicians I grew up listening to in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Dr. Dre, Quincy Jones, Pharrell Williams, Rodney DARKchild Jerkins, Kanye West and Eminen really got me into music production and my goal to finally record, mix and master a complete length album!

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: The most common type of work I do for any clients or if I have or potential new ones is Audio Engineering services: recording, editing, mixing, mastering for all types of media content. Whether its music, film, tv, web videos, ads, podcasts, interviews, etc. I do it all basically! an engineer of many hats not geared to just one thing but trained and technically skilled to operate audio on many platforms and still put out high quality audio services and best product content for clients. And now due to COVID this year and future of audio studios and technology, I am operating software from my home setup for virtual remote sessions for all of my services and any audio project that comes my way!
