Real amps, real drums, real singers. If you wan´t something triggered or auto-tuned, we´re not the right studio for you. If you want something, that sounds different and fitting to the type of music you play, you´re at the right place. No cookie cutter approach here.
We are a young recording studio near Bamberg (Germany), that specializes in recording and mixing bands from the indie-, stoner-, doom-, and heavy-rock genre.
We are no fans of modern records, that make all bands sound the same, because they use the same drum triggers, all tightly time-aligned and all use a 6505 into a V30 loaded 4x12 recorded with an SM57. Oh, and probably a SansAmp For D.I. Bass.
We have tons of old, weird and quirky gear and take the time to experiment to find the sound, that best fits you.
We´re also happy to reamp your guitar and bass tracks.

Working with Moe from "Mach Ma Mecker - Recording" was an excellent experience! Good decisions, fast delivery, great communication and special attention to details and suggestions. The mix had great overall balance, sound and feeling. It also had good volume room for mastering, dynamics were in place, no part was squashed. I am very pleased with the results and I would certainly recommend Moe's mixing services and ears!
Interview with Mach Ma Mecker - Recording
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Stop the cookie cutter! Use something else than a SM57 on snare and for guitars! Try and listen to as many different setups as you can! Experiment! Oh and you better use those room mics.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Everything from weird indie rock to heavy stoner/doom rock.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Special Guitar Tones
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think we´re good at recognizing the vibe of a song. And not just go by e.g. how distorted the guitars are thus making the song agressive. There are really heavy sounding songs, that are actually pretty laid back and "quiet". After that we try to adapt all sounds to make that feeling happen sonically.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We are currently running a hybrid Studio-Setup, using mostly our Soundcraft 6000 Console for Pres. After that we´re going straight into Logic Pro X. We have two recording rooms, a lounge and a control room.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Eric Valentine, Vance Powell, Steve Albini
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Recording (Rock) Bands Live and Mixing (Rock) Bands.
