Interview with Aukoustics

  1. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  2. A: When will this be done? What is your deadline? Are your credits real? Check spotify or google the song credits, you will see my name there :)

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: I have been producing music for almost 10 years now. I initially started as a songwriter with big producers. I quickly picked up producing and started making that my main focus. I moved to LA. I have placements with David Guetta, Galantis, 5SOS, Steve Aoki, Dolly Parton, and so many more.

  5. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  6. A: YOU!

  7. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  8. A: All types. I have major releases in the pop, rap, and edm genre. But I would say that I really specialize in making mainstream versions of whatever style I work on.

  9. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  10. A: Max Martin, The Chainsmokers, David Guetta, Galantis

  11. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  12. A: The song I made with Galantis, Dolly Parton, and Mr. Probz called "Faith". It received two billboard #1's and has amassed over 81 million streams to date. I started the song from scratch. Played all of the instruments and then worked to produce out the entire song with Galantis. Then processed and mixed all the elements including vocals from Mr. Probz and Dolly herself :) Once in a lifetime project and it has completely changed my life :)

  13. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  14. A: Always deliver an amazing product from start to finish that they are 100% satisfied with in a timely and professional manner.

  15. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  16. A: Doing what I love. Creating something that wasn't there before and sharing it with the world. Music is the universal language and is something we can all use to communicate and heal, and I love being a part of that :)

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: People think that creating a simple song is easy. In reality, there complexity in simplicity. It is harder to make an amazing simple song than anything else because you really have to be selective of what you put into the song.

  19. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  20. A: What are you trying to achieve with this? What is your end dream result? What do you think about this? What are some references you would like our song to sound like?

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: Have a clear idea of what it is you want to achieve and something you are passionate about creating with me :)

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: My Telecaster. My Martin. My UAD. My Blue Mic. My ears.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: I would describe my style as commercial yet at the same time maintaining the integrity of the genre I am producing. I am aiming to make the record a hit, in whatever genre it lives in.

  27. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  28. A: Yes, my biggest tip is always about choosing the right sounds and knowing when to stop. So many producers think they just need to add more stuff to make it sound bigger, when you just need to add the right sounds.

  29. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  30. A: My most valuable asset to a song however, is my ear. My ability to have a sense for what sounds good and what is the greatest way to deliver the final product. I have been around the greatest ears in the music industry and learned from them. Aside from being able to play over 5 instruments and create a record from start to finish.

  31. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  32. A: Everything from fresh sounds, hard hitting drums, and smooth vocals. My most valuable asset to a song however, is my ear. My ability to have a sense for what sounds good and what is the greatest way to deliver the final product. I have been around the greatest ears in the music industry and learned from them.

  33. Q: What's your typical work process?

  34. A: Depends on the song. If I already have the vocal, I will normally start with that, find chords on the piano or guitar. Once I lay those down, then I add drums and produce the song out from there. If it is a songwriting job, I load up the beat and record, process, and mix my vocals. Or I can start something completely from scratch.

  35. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  36. A: I have a UAD interface, Sennheiser headphones, Blue Mic, Ableton, Multiple keyboards, multiple guitars (acoustics and electric)

  37. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  38. A: Full songs start to finish. Take an idea or create the idea. Produce an entire beat around the vocal and also song write to others ideas, record the vocals, process the vocals. Record all instruments. Mix. Take a product from nothing and turn it into something.
