Endorse Jiroe (aka Matias Rengel)- check_circleVerified
Matias was very professional, and very patient with my creative process! He was open to feedback and delivered the vision I had for my song. Thanks Matias!
Worked alongside Matias for a few years prior and during his years as a Berklee student. He excells at delivering top quality mixes and beats. His work ethics ar unbeatable as he will make the mix/beat/record he is working the priority of his time. Very communicative and understanding of his clients demands, Matias will go out of his way to make any performer, singer, producer or DJ satisfied about the product they are working together as he understands music as something beyond sounds and frequencies. A songwriter and very skilled guitar player himself, his mind is constantly creating music.
Matias did a great job mixing a series of songs I was pitching to a publishing company. Definitely go for him if you want your songs to sound professional and like the stuff you hear out there.
Interview with Jiroe (aka Matias Rengel)
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I signed many songs to Universal Music Publishing Group and one of them was placed on ESPN and on an ABC/Netflix Show. Also, Rancid Eddie "Dry", which I produced and mixed, reached #2 on ARIA charts.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you show the work of the provider to other people just so you know everyone agrees the songs sound professional.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Headphones (because there's no power my speakers), Laptop, Camera (sorry haha), Mic and an apogee duet.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Big and In You Face.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Bruno Mars. Because he just seems like a really cool guy to chill with.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Think about the frequency spectrum very carefully when starting to arrange your song. Sometimes you don't really need to stack a lot of synthesizers or percussions around; sometimes the answer is fewer instruments occupying different parts of the frequency spectrum, making the song sound fuller but not messy.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop and EDM.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Production and Mixing. I am really good at both
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creativity and Professionalism.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on the task. If I am mixing a song, the first thing I do is organize the session in a way that helps me be more effective and creative. Then I mix the song for a few hours, move on to another project, and open up the song again in the morning with fresh ears and give it a 2nd mix. Unless of course, the deadline is tight. For Production, I tend to get the client to send me a basic version of the song, and from there I start imagining the entire track. I work on a version of the song on my own most of the times and send the client a bounce, and from there I usually start working with the client and improving the song with his/her input.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Serban Ghenea, Sohn, Flume, Zedd.
