Nothing makes me happier than helping music projects to reach their max.
Professional Musician with a Bachelor Degree in "Electric Guitar Performance" and a Specialization in "Music Production and Recording" with more than 20 years of experience working in the music industry. I have been involved in several projects either as guitar player and as producer / mixing engineer.
After living, working and studying for more than 5 years in Europe I traveled back to my home town and decided to have the option of working remotely with clients from all over the world. The SoundBetter platform seems to be the perfect solution for this purpose.
I am looking forward to work with you!

Interview with David J Giraldo L
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Right now I am working on the production of the EP of a Colombian Singer Songwriter artist called "Cavito Mendoza".
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I can fix anything once everything has been recorded
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: 1) A Macbook Pro laptop equipped with Logic Pro X. 2) An Apollo Twin Interface 3 & 4) A two set of condenser microphones with selective polar pattern 5) A Beyerdynamic DT-880 set of headphones
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been a profesional musician for more than 10 years and I have been mixing and producing for 5 years.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with any artist eager to take the time to explore and experiment for the sake of finding their unique voice.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use as much time as you need to capture a good sound and a good performance from the musicians. These two are in my opinion the pillars for a good recording. Avoid the "I´ll fix that later when mixing" approach. It is true that nowadays a lot of things can be fixed later but it will require way more time and energy and chances are that it won´t sound as natural as it should.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock, Pop, Acoustic, Classical and Jazz.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Patience and musicality.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A professional and unbiased perspective, to make the song reach its full potential.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: 1) I listen to the material I am going to work with 2) I talk to the client about the work that is needed to be done 3) Set a project´s schedule 4) I start Working 5) According to what was agreed on the schedule I deliver some previews of the work done during the working process. 6) Once both me and the client are satisfied with the final result, I deliver the final product on or before the agreed deadline date.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: As producer: The Norwegian electro/rock/pop scene, bands like "Bendik" and "Emilie Nicolas" As musician: "Russian Circles", "Chelsea Wolfe", "One Day As a Lion", "Royal Blood" and such, bands that push the boundaries. As mixing engineer: Vance Powell, Andrew Scheps, Chris Lord-Alge, Jacquire King and Daniel Bergstrand
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I prefer analog on the way in (when recording) and digital when mixing. This in order to have a solid good starting point when tracking/recording and then once recorded have the flexibility the digital world offers.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: After working with me, your music will reach its full potential.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I don´t love anything else more than making music and I even love more the fact that I am able to make a living out of my life´s passion!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do production, mixing and guitar works.
