Interview with Red Lake

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: We are currently working on a very long-term cinematic style Artist, no expense spared with no deadline which has been incredible, it has been going on many years but its so timeless and beautiful, it will hopefully be completed 2019..

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: We are working, on a few different projects right, now, a hip-hop record, a pop record and some cinematic stuff. And everything else in between.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Not just now as we are only new here, we hope to meet more in the future

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: We love both, it depends on the project, the efficiency with digital is always convenient, we use whatever depending on the Artists taste.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: We offer our clients unlimited revisions until they feel they got what they wanted out of their music, within reason.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Clients would ask us normally about transferring their files over to us and what way we would need them delivered, we would go through all that when we have to.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: The biggest misconception? We can work as hard as we can with the material given to us, the arrangement is key and a great song is a great song.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What kind of music do they like, what do they want it to sound like etc. We ask them to describe with more descriptive terms, such as bright, dark, loud, dynamic..

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Make sure you know what you want and hear it before you ask anyone to achieve it for you.

  32. A: We can work on anything from EDM, POP, ROCK To METAL We have a soft spot for punk rock

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: The strongest skill would have to be the ability to hear what the Artist hears and making that manifest itself in the speakers, we like to hear what they hear and make that happen.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: We bring a lot of creativity, we pride ourselves on inspiration and imagination, yet staying true to the Artists vision and respecting their music an achieving their inner sound.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: We like to really listen to what is in front of us, we like to understand what the big picture is early and we then just go for it. We will make it there no matter what.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: We have an amazing recording studio in the Hidden Heartlands Of Ireland. We have amazing Artist passing through all the time. We are mostly a Neve based studio with Amphion Monitors, We work in mostly the digital domain although we started in the analogue world many moons ago.
