Make D.I.Y. recordings S-L-A-P

Adam Train on SoundBetter

For punx and metalheads who want their DIY recordings to stand up to the big boys. I help bands take songs recorded in less-than-ideal environments and make them sound like big studio, big budget records. Records that slap like Don Juan's ballsack. Records that will make your parents and/or spouses go "what the hell is this? This is just noise".

I work primarily as a remote mixing and mastering engineer.

Not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty sick. I know how to make a kick drum hit you in the chest.

But the best thing about working with me is the communication. My clients tell me it all the time. "The best thing about working with you is the communication," they say.

That sounds really boring. It's not.

This is a shared project. A project that involves you trusting me with your musical baby. You want someone who's going to listen to you about how you want that baby raised.

You don't want to ship it off to some boarding school and not hear from it until Xmas holidays. Oh and, by the way, now it's got a tramp-stamp tattoo of a butterfly.
You don't want to want to sent your files off to some stranger on the internet, only to be faced with radio silence for a month. Then, all of a sudden, "hi guys, mixes are done. Hope you like them. Revisions charged at $50 an hour."

I care about what you want your music to achieve. We dissect your influences and references together. We leave time for rounds of feedback and revisions (I do up 3 drafts of each song for free). And I'm really good at keeping a project on track.

Experienced enough to deliver mixes and masters that SLAP.
Hungry enough to mean every client gets a personal relationship.
