Big sounding rock and metal mixes!
I like big sounding mixes with lots of punch and impact. But mixing is very subjective and my first and utmost priority is to make YOUR mix sounding the way YOU want.
Who am I
My name is Christoffer Borg. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Music Production and I have worked as an engineer and assistant at Top Floor Studios in Gothenburg with band such as: Anthrax, Amaranthe, Danko Jones, Evergrey, Cyhra, Kee Marcello, Art Nation among others.
I work exclusively in the box. It gives me the freedom to work faster and more consistent. I use both Logic and Pro Tools.
Most single songs will be finished within a week or less.
Mastering will be applied, free of charge with purchase of mixing. If you don’t want any mastering, I’ll send you the mix without any mastering applied.

Top! Great taste and understanding
I’ll work again with Christoffer, no doubt
Christoffer is a musician, a guitar player and a great engineer with good ideas and mad skills. We are very grateful for the amazing job he did with our little baby...our project. We will work with him again for sure!
Look Christoffer is a great engineer that is no doubt. Our song was rescued and made to sound great so we have Christoffer to thank for that...BUT wait that's not all...He is such a stand up, down to earth dude that we are sending all the other songs of our EP to him too! Proof that he's good.
Christoffer did a great job with mixing and mastering, creating a cohesive, powerful sound, just as requested. He was also very responsive to messages and the work was completed very quickly. We are very happy! :)
Precise, inspired and extremely professional. Top!
Absolutely talented! It’s a privilege to have Christoffer work on our music
Interview with Christoffer Borg
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes, I work very closely with Top Floor Studios. If I'm doing a recording, that's the place I'll go. When I was the studio assistant, the owner Jakob Herrmann taught me everything there is to know about producing/engineering and is a big part of the one I am today.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am extremely proud of working with Evergrey on their latest record called "The storm within". During the recording I got the chance to engineer and record the guest vocals of one of my all time favourite singers, Floor Jansen from Nightwish. It was a dream come true.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. I really like the ease of use. My workflow makes it easier and faster to get to where I want. But you can't beat the sound of a good analog compressor or EQ. I add that stuff when I'm recording. But a good mix is not about cool gear or great sounds. It's about balance and emotion. If you can get that, no one will care whether you used an analog or a digital compressor.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to do my absolute best to make my clients vision come true.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: To make a flat recording into a big and open mix. That's amazing all the time.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I do editing and occasionally magic. I can't magically transform a bad recording into an amazing mix. But I can make it good or at least better.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't rush your desicion.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Computer, soundcard, microphone, guitar and keyboard.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been recording and mixing for the last 10 years and been doing it professionally for the last 5 years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Fat sounding and punchy.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with Blind Guardian becuse they have always been my favourite band.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Lower your listening volume.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock and metal.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I know what I want and how to get there.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to bring as much energy and emotion to a track as possible. But everything depends on the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Organization of the project (color coding, naming of tracks, grouping, comping etc) Mixing drums first and vocals last.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work exclusively in the box in either Logic or Pro Tools. I use Adam A7x and Sennheiser HD650 as monitoring. I have used this combo for many years and I am very comfortable with it.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Jacob Hansen, CLA, Joey Sturgis, Adam "Nolly" Getgood, Andy Sneap, Jens Bogren
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mix and master songs.
